We posted this over a year ago and its now two years of shame. Nothing will change or get better until this dysfunctional ownership model is resolved. Until then our club, generational loyalty and fan culture will continue to be destroyed. We postponed what we felt was a needed protest at the start of this season due to fan sentiment. Are you all feeling the same way now? The 1958🇾🇪
🗣️SJR & INEOS: A year of shame & disgrace A year of INEOS and Sir Jim promised so much after the generational damage caused by Glazer ownership. Sir Jim stated he wanted to put “The Manchester back into Manchester United”. Everyone thinking a local lad would understand the community, the working class and the fabric of our great club. Far from it and the disgraceful comments in the recent interview comparing United to Fulham back this up. Actions will always speak louder than words. All the evidence so far shows a different picture. →Price hikes for match going fans →Removal of concessions for kids & pensioners →Club staff losing jobs at all levels saving peanuts →The Ashworth debacle costing millions →Ticketing services impacted by cuts (away collections) →Moral of the club and hopes of fans in the gutter →Stewards bonuses being removed & numbers cut. You’ve seen the queues right (more on this another time) →Donations to the charity that supports ex United players stopped without any notice. Nothing but total contempt for the fans and the very fabric of what our club was built on. Sir Jim’s strategy to cut costs is nothing other than an affront on the working-class foundations our club was built on. It’s a penny wise and pound-foolish approach. Hitting those most in need and can least afford it who have no voice is an act of cowardice and shows a total lack of understanding. An investor with strength of conviction would address the real issues impacting the club. The Glazers. Their mismanagement of the club for over 20 years. Their crippling debt placed on the club and the millions of pounds paid by the club in interest payments each year. The strategy in place to recover from the Glazers shit show is targeting the vulnerable factions of our fan base. We now have the worse of both worlds. An attack from the top down with the Glazers creaming off the club and an attack from the bottom up with the “local Failsworth lad” preying on those who can least afford it and have no voice. This cannot continue! We will not allow this to continue! If we do nothing as a fan base. Then there will be no more rivalries, no more fan culture. Only tourists and corporates happy for a day out with no emotional attachment. We are up for the fight. Is the Supporters Trust (how long are you going to stand by and do nothing)? Is the fanbase? In times of adversity and hardship we all need to look to each other for the light. It’s your choice. It’s now or never. No matter who you are underestimate the fans and Mancunians at your peril. The 1958🇾🇪

FC58 Statement of Intent On Saturday, FC58 (The 1958) attended our first AGM as a member of @WeAreTheFSA. The day covered important issues affecting football supporters and supporter groups across the country. However, for us, the real eye-opener came through direct conversations with other fan groups which we have also been having behind closed doors for some time. There’s a reason why fans at other clubs have achieved results on ticket pricing, concessions, and fair treatment for season ticket holders and members: because their supporter groups work together — balancing meaningful dialogue with meaningful protest. That’s the difference. And the harsh truth? We are miles behind. To protect our fans and our culture, dialogue alone is not enough. Without consequences, words are empty. Right now, our FF and FAB representatives can argue and shout behind closed doors — but the club knows full well that when they leave the boardroom, nothing will happen. No follow-up. No pressure. No change. At other clubs, it’s different. Their groups act together. They speak with a single unified voice. Because of that unity, they get results. To be blunt: when it comes to working together and holding our club to account, we are — as things stand — an embarrassment. There are reasons for this, and they will become clearer in the months ahead. Here’s what’s certain: this must change and will change. On July 1st 2025, we will publish our Unity Charter — a clear, uncompromising statement of what we believe every fan group and every supporter must stand behind if we are serious about changing things. Before it is released, we will share this Charter with other fan groups for feedback and — we hope — agreement. A line in the sand needs drawing and fans need to understand which side of that line groups are on. Because things must change. Shouting at the moon in a room achieves nothing if there are no consequences. FC58 intends to make this difference — to unite, to act, and to make sure our club understands that failure to listen will no longer go unanswered. This is the start. FC58 🇾🇪

Sir Jim… “More borrowing from the bank” “Club bust by Christmas” “The debt will be cleared when we are successful”. How? 🗣️Message to Sir Jim. Protests are not about football, performances or league position. They never have been. We protest to save our community. To keep real fans going to watch United. Young and old. Protests are against 20 years of Glazer greed. 1 Billion stolen. 1 Billion in debt. 170 million in dividends. Get the Glazers to remove the debt which the club pays millions a year in interest. Get them gone! Remove the elephant in the room. The 1958🇾🇪

🗣️Today was a massive success and fans showed up in huge numbers. Young, old, families, supporter clubs, some fans clearly struggling. All for the love of our club and to fight for everything we stand for. Worldwide media coverage turning the lens of greed back on our owners. Each one of you made a statement that we have had enough. We will not take it any longer. Many seem to think that a protest is a silver bullet. It is a war of attrition and the war to protect the best interests of our club, generational fans and football is underway. We have always said it’s a marathon not a sprint and it requires resolve, dedication and commitment. This will be more than protests at the ground and everyone will need to play their part. Everyone who took part today at the ground or online will be on the right side of history. Unified in solidarity under a single cause. Stay the course and support each other. Further updates will be released this week on what comes next. The 1958🇾🇪
