LSEG has now authorized private markets using tokens.
Along with launching its Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI), the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) also closed its first full-fledged digital fundraising round, for MembersCap's tokenized MCM Fund 1. Microsoft acted as a tech partner, and Archax was the nominee.
What it means
1) First-mover advantage
A major global exchange now runs issuance → trading → settlement on-chain. Not a pilot—a full flow.
2) Private markets first
Where settlement can take 40–50 days, DMI aims to compress that to days → minutes. That unlocks fund formation, distribution, and post-trade ops.
3) Scale + credibility
LSEG operates Europe’s #2 equities venue (~$3–4T market cap). Putting that machinery behind tokenized workflows is a signal to institutions: this is production, not a demo.
You're not buying "crypto on an exchange." A top-tier market operator is changing the way private markets work. If issuance, cap table, and settlement are all rolled into one regulated, on-chain workflow, it will change how fast people can raise money and who can do it.
