Dubai, United Arab Emirates
London Sport Institute in Dubai (LSID), at Middlesex University Dubai hosted the first event in its new Women in Sport series last night - We Emerge Stronger and Better: Identity, Heritage & the Next Generation. The evening brought together four of the UAE's leading Emirati athletes -Maryam Alfarsi, Amenah Almuhairi, Zamzam Al Hammadi, and Maha Alshehhi - for a moderated conversation led by Amna Al Haddad, exploring what it means to be an Emirati woman in sport today, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the next generation. Held in celebration of Emirati Women's Month, the event reflects LSID's broader commitment to building genuine platforms for the voices shaping the UAE's sporting future - not just discussing representation, but creating space for it. This is the first of three events in the series. Follow London Sport Institute in Dubai for updates on the next session.

Great discussions at @iseza_zone ‘From Progress to Possibility’ event, delivered in collaboration with @womeninsportmena 🙌 Representing the London Sport Institute in Dubai at @middlesexdubai, our Sports Partnerships & Development Executive, @iamcharvibhatt, moderated the panel ‘Breaking Ground: Grassroots to Elite Women's Sport’, exploring the opportunities, pathways and challenges shaping women’s sport across the region. Joined by UAE Olympian @maryamalfarsi1, @dubaihurricanes General Manager Kat Smith, and @vanta_uae Co-Founder Matthew Parker, the conversation highlighted the progress being made and the work still to be done to create sustainable pathways for women and girls in sport. It was also great to see Maryam continue the conversation with LSI, having previously joined our launch event in February as a panellist, where she shared her journey as one of the UAE’s pioneering female athletes. The event reflects the spirit of the growing collaboration between LSI Dubai and ISEZA, bringing together industry leaders, academics and practitioners to support knowledge exchange and contribute to the continued development of the UAE’s sports ecosystem 💪
