If your HS coach(es) put on organized workouts in the offseason and you are not playing another sport…. I encourage you to take advantage of this quality FREE training/practice.
You don’t have to pay for training for it to be of value. If you take lessons, plan those for a time when you are not at your HS training. Then you get a double bonus. It should not be one or the other. Of course I’m talking about players who love the game and are hungry to get better.
*** Footnote: not everyone is blessed to have quality coaches who give up their time in the off season to help other. But if you do, take advantage of it and thank them.
Cameron Penney (‘27 FL) with another monster day at the plate; goes 3-4 with a pair of doubles and nearly leaves the yard again. Clean lefty stroke can really get into it. #WWBAWorlds@Florida_PG@UCF_Baseball commit.
This ball got out in a hurry! Cameron Penney (‘27 FL) absolutely barrels this one up and launches a no-doubter 2-run HR over the RF wall in his first AB of the game. Fast, strong hands from the #ChargeOn commit. #WWBAWorlds
Carter Lewis (‘29 FL) came out the pen throwing ⛽️ , running the FB up to 92(89-90). Long & lengthy 6’6”/ 200lb frame that works down the mound w/ ease. #WWBAWorlds@Florida_PG
The clubhouse matters.
Players do not have to be best friends.
But players have to respect each other enough to hold each other accountable.
The best organizations in baseball are not the best because of super duper player development.
They are the best because of dynamic accountability to inconvenient and strict standards.
Every player on a team can make a positive impact, no matter how much playing time they get. If they work hard and put the team first, they are valuable contributors to their team's success.
Just because your teammates have a bad attitude doesn’t mean you have to have one as well. To succeed as an athlete, you need to resist peer pressure, rise above the negative influence of others, and maintain a positive attitude.
