So proud of this fantastic work of @jo_bergmann and team. well deserved hard work and very thorough analysis. Showing now two top-down processes unfolding in cortical layers of visual cortex. Work @CCNi_UofG , @UofGMVLS
@layerfMRI was faster than me 😅 so retweeting his post now.
It only took ages (because life..) but our laminar fMRI paper is finally out in @NatureComms! With @LarsMuckli, Lucy S. Petro, @atyler_morgan, Clement Abbatecola & @susan_m_li

There are a number of permanent positions available in Glasgow, UK. This includes a professorship for 7T and layer-fMRI work.

Less visual decodability in aphantasia when stimulated with complex sounds. Compared to previous work with blind and sighted volunteers @Amiramedi and @petravetter. Well done (@BelenMMontabes, Clements, Lucy, and team at @CCNi_UofG). Fantastic work.

Some impressions from yesterday's Consciousness Symposium held in the @UofGARC, featuring Giulio Tononi, Cyriel Pennartz, Jakob Hohwy and Umberto Olcese, organized by @LarsMuckli and his lab. Fascinating!
The ground truth about the human fMRI occlusion paradigm revealed by rodent 🐁2P imaging - Super excited about this @HumanBrainProj collaboration with @kseignet at @CN_Levelt lab multispecies multiscale @CCNi_UofG. Preprint and Tweetorial below: spoiler: L2/3 are contributing!
I’m very excited to share our latest preprint:

New layer-fMRI showing how high-resulution imaging can capture different types of feedback:
Mental imaginary and optical illusory experiences are represented in different feedback layers (deeper and superficial).

It was a long and winding road getting this piece published. Very proud of it and grateful for the wonderful collaborative work with @ortiztudelaJ@LarsMuckli@jo_bergmann @IsabelleEhrlic1 and Matt Bennett!
All NeuroImage and NeuroImage:Reports editors have resigned over the high publication fee, and are starting a new non-profit journal
imaging-neuroscience.org
This comes with great regret, and a huge amount of thought and discussion- please read announcement to get more details.
Most exciting collaboration with @paolo_papale & @pieters_Tweet. When visual scenes are occluded, V1 still knows about the occluded information. Monkeys V1 just like human V1 is filling in mental line drawings @CCNi_UofG started with @FraserWSmith now in monkeys @HBPSysCogNeuro
Here is a interesting pre-print by @paolo_papale demonstrating that V1 neurons with an occluder in their receptive fields respond to the non-occluded parts of an image (i.e. using the paradigm of @LarsMuckli). researchgate.net/publication…
