Kings Mill Hydrotherapy Pool.
Last week I wrote to all Nottinghamshire MPs to see if they would support my letter to the Health Secretary to fight the closure of this essential facility.
You can see below which MPs support my campaign.
Dear Secretary of State,
Re: Closure of Kings Mill Hospital’s Hydrotherapy Pool
As Nottinghamshire Members of Parliament, we have been contacted by concerned constituents who have raised concerns over the closure of the hydrotherapy pool at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
We are now writing to you to highlight the urgency of this situation and to request your intervention to ensure this important service is not lost. Since raising these concerns, we have continued to correspond with residents who are very worried about its closure and the impact this will have on their access to effective recovery and rehabilitation.
We understand that, as a publicly funded organisation, Kings Mill Hospital must undergo clinical and financial reviews into their spending and operations to ensure that their facilities and services are sustainable and provide value for money. It is extremely disappointing, however, that this service is facing closure due to funding pressures while so many people across the local area are continuing to benefit from it, particularly at a time when your department is wanting to fix the NHS.
We would be grateful if you could confirm that you will work with the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other relevant stakeholders to identify any gaps in funding, and to provide the necessary funds to ensure this facility remains open for our constituents
We look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Lee Anderson MP
