A suspect can outrun an officer or disappear into the woods. Getting away from a trained police dog is a different story.
These dogs can follow a scent where officers lose sight of someone, search places where a suspect could be hiding, and help officers find them without blindly walking into danger.
And the work starts long before the chase. It takes training, patience, and a handler who knows how to read that dog’s behavior.
They don’t understand the charges or get to choose the assignment. They trust their handler and go to work. That kind of loyalty deserves respect—and protection. nitter.siddz.com/Rainmaker1973/status/2…
