Thank you, Scotland!
I leave Glasgow richer, more determined, and deeply hopeful.
Richer for the many meaningful encounters that began in Edinburgh- from a visit to the Craigies’ Farm, to lively conversations with the enthusiastic pupils of Culross Primary School, whose dreams of one day visiting Kenya was both inspiring and heartwarming. I was equally encouraged by engaging discussions with Kenyan students and professionals in Scottish universities, and by a vibrant roundtable with members of the Scotland Africa Business Alliance, among many other valuable interactions.
I leave more determined to strengthen the partnership between Kenya 🇰🇪 and Scotland 🏴, and to contribute to broadening, deepening and expanding the Kenya–United Kingdom 🇬🇧
#StrategicPartnership. Our engagement with the City of Glasgow College
@CofGCollege underscored the immense opportunities for collaboration in maritime affairs and the blue economy- areas that hold great promise for both our nations.
And then there was the simple pleasure of sharing a hot plate of ugali and nyama choma at Calabash, a Kenyan diaspora-owned enterprise. It was a fitting reminder that wherever Kenyans go, they carry with them not only enterprise and excellence, but also the warmth of home. In many ways, it reinforced Kenya’s remarkable presence and positive footprint in the world.
Scotland, thank you for your warmth, friendship and openness. I leave optimistic about what we can achieve together.
See you next month at the
#CommonwealthGames. Kenya as usual, will bring her finest athletes 💪🏿.
