🚨 Andy Madley will referee Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on Sunday, with Stuart Attwell on VAR. Madley has overseen 8 Arsenal matches, with the Gunners winning 4, drawing 2 and losing 2, including one defeat on penalties. The key concern is consistency. The Premier League’s Key Match Incidents panel unanimously ruled that Arsenal should have received a penalty when Michael Keane fouled Kai Havertz against Everton last season with Madley in charge of the match. On VAR Stuart Attwell will act as the primary VAR Big decisions can shape games at Anfield. Arsenal need the officials to get them right, whoever benefits.

PAULO FUTRE REFUSED TO PLAY FOR WEST HAM BECAUSE THEY GAVE HIM THE WRONG SHIRT NUMBER. 😭😂 In 1996, Harry Redknapp thought he had pulled off an unbelievable signing. Futre had won the European Cup with Porto, starred for Atlético Madrid and had just been at AC Milan. Even as injuries began catching up with him, his talent was so obvious that Redknapp later claimed training would practically stop just to watch him take free-kicks. Then came West Ham’s opening game of the season against Arsenal at Highbury. Around 45 minutes before kick-off, Redknapp was told there was a problem. Futre had been handed his West Ham shirt. Number 16. He immediately threw it back. “Futre 10, not 16.” He began listing some of football’s greatest No.10s. "Eusébio, Maradona and Pelé....10!" "Futre, 10!" Redknapp tried explaining that the squad numbers had already been allocated. Futre didn't care. He refused to wear number 16. Redknapp eventually told him that if he wasn't going to get changed, he could leave. So Futre put his suit back on and stormed out of Highbury before the match had even started. 😂 West Ham were left explaining why a player already named on their teamsheet had suddenly disappeared. They lost 2–0. But Futre wasn't finished. He wanted that No.10 shirt. There was just one problem: it already belonged to John Moncur. According to Redknapp, West Ham even tried telling Futre that so many No.16 replica shirts had already been sold that changing his number would be impossible. Futre reportedly offered to cover the cost, with Redknapp recalling that he was willing to spend as much as £100,000 to get his preferred number. Eventually, he found a much cheaper solution. Futre owned a villa in the Algarve overlooking a golf course. And Moncur loved golf. So Futre offered him the use of his villa in exchange for one thing… The No.10 shirt. 😭😂 Moncur agreed. And Paulo Futre finally got his number. Imagine risking your West Ham debut against Arsenal over a shirt number, then negotiating a villa deal with your own teammate to get it! 💀

I know they were never going to accept the appeal and change the decision. They would rather protect the system and make it infallible than change the decision. The only good thing out of the appeal is people will now pay attention anytime similar incidence goes unpunished like the Cole Palmer incidence against Spurs.
🚨 UPDATE: Max Dowman's red card appeal has been REJECTED by the FA. The 16-year-old will now miss Liverpool, Hull City and Newcastle United after his dismissal against Fleetwood. The initial challenge on him was reckless, but retaliation gave the referee a decision to make. Hopefully, this becomes a lesson, not a setback to his confidence. What sort of challenge is this?! If Van Dijk reacted to this Challenge by Emegha, he would be sent off for violent conduct and retaliation, right?

🚨 Alessia Russo is now the highest-scoring English player in Women's Champions League history! Her hat-trick against Benfica took her tally to 23 goals, moving her past Fran Kirby's previous record of 21. A composed finish, a header from a corner and a penalty. Three different finishes, one outstanding night. Arsenal Women have now won back-to-back games for the first time this season. After the difficult start, this is the kind of momentum Renée Slegers' side needs to build on. Russo deserves her flowers. 👏

🚨UPADTE: Arsenal's injury situation ahead of Liverpool is one to watch. Declan Rice and Noni Madueke are reportedly hoping to be available for Sunday's trip to Anfield, while Riccardo Calafiori remains a doubt. Rice's presence would be particularly important in a game where Arsenal need control and physicality in midfield. Madueke would offer another attacking option, but Calafiori's availability could also influence Arteta's defensive setup.

How can you be playing one match in a week and you still allow a team playing twice in a week to knock you out of Carabao Cup thst you stand the chance to win. So your mission is to be playing once in 3 weeks? 😏
