In Politico's London Playbook this morning We did the Double! 🏆🏆 @POLITICOEurope
MATCH REPORT: The Lobby XI completed the conference double with a 5-1 victory over the Conservatives having beaten Labour last week. Viagogo’s Ruan Tremayne bagged a hat trick, while a cheeky lob from Josh Caplan (after gliding past Graham Evans who was three times his age) and the obligatory goal from Babcock’s Luke Joseph put the game beyond the Tories as the Lobby made their superior numbers and lower average age count. InHouse’s Tom Jane grabbed one back for the Tories, only after Playbook’s Sam Francis left defensive midfield. Fittingly shadow sports minister Louie French, in goal for the Conservatives, was named his side’s player of the match, alongside Lobby keeper Kiran Stacey after both helped keep the scoreline from getting even sillier.

It was another lively start to Labour party conference at Goodison Park this morning, with the Lobby beating the UK Parliamentary Football Club 2-0 in their annual showdown. Goals came from @MillardClothier of the Mail on Sunday and @TomSheldrickITV. We love this conference tradition, and it’s a privilege to help organise it alongside @FootballAssoc. Both teams had extra reason to bring their best, with football legend @reid6peter watching from the sidelines, and the incredibly important cause behind it all this year, @alzheimerssoc. Watch the highlights below. ⚽ @APPGUKPFC @LobbyXI #LPC2026

A nightmare for Downing Street! The Lobby journalists thrashed the No10 team on Tuesday night, while the PM was at an away fixture in France Despite the scoreline, as combative a match as a typical Lobby briefing

No10 hit back with a switch in players and strategy that surely inspired Thomas Tuchel They hit back with a sublime free kick from Richard Williams and a Thomas Lotaraz brace (We should have invited the No10 photographer there to snap their goals...)

“Can you do it on a cold winter’s night in Stoke?” Well, try getting 22 players on a sultry summer’s evening to Chiswick during a busy political week in Westminster... Thank you to all the players for making the tricky Tuesday night journey for the game
