Friday, November 8, was #NationalSTEMDay — an opportunity to reflect on the crucial role that science, technology, engineering and mathematics play in our ever-evolving world! A core component of early STEM education is the engineering design process, where students learn to identify problems, brainstorm solutions, build prototypes and test their ideas. Find out some of the ways students at Belmont Hills and Gladwyne are engaging with that process here 👉 link.lmsd.org/STEMday Black Rock students took on an exciting STEM challenge, as each Royal was tasked with programming their four-wheeled robot to autonomously navigate a circuitous course. Working independently, students wrote code to direct their robots around tight turns and across precarious passages without any hands-on control!’ Students at BCMS & Merion engaged in mock elections, as the Mustangs filled out ballots voting on.....

The red paw print on the shirts symbolizes the stickers given to students who are 'Caught Following The Gladwyne Way!' #WolfPack Nineteen students from Harriton and eight students from LMHS were named Semifinalists by the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Another 24 Rams and 39 Aces were named Commended students by the program. ALT Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors the histories, cultures and perspectives of Indigenous peoples and their ancestors who lived on the land now known as North America, such as the Lenape, or Delaware, whose territory was called Lenapehoking. Lenapehoking was a large territory encompassing the Delaware & Lehigh Valley regions of eastern PA and NJ, with lands also in the New York area. The name Black Rock Middle School was chosen in recognition of the distinct formations of black rocks in the area that the Lenape people used to make tools and other implements.
