Massamba Diop's improbable basketball journey has been guided by a self-determination rooted in a higher purpose: to serve as a beacon of hope for his family and others in Senegal.

A proud Kenny Dillingham congratulating Jake Fette.
ASU defeats KState 28-17 after playing three different QBs. Fette led the Sun Devils’ last two TD drives.

Kenny Dillingham on Jake Fette:
“Jake’s got that look in his eye. He’s got the swagger. He’s got the confidence. We know what kind of player Jake is…We felt like he gave us the best chance to win.”

Cardae Mack. 26 carries. 159 yards. Four touchdowns.
Tied the freshman record. DeMario Richard had four in the 2014 Sun Bowl.

Cardae Mack. One touchdown for every letter of his last name. Fourth rushing TD of the day, more than Skattebo ever had in a single game.

Consecutive fourth-down stops for ASU’s defense. Mountain America Stadium is not full. Not by a long shot. But BOY is it loud.

ASU’s sideline pouring onto the field after the end of the 3rd quarter. Cutter Boley made a beeline for Jake Fette to dap him up:

Another chunk run from Mack. Mountain America Stadium has come alive. ASU inside of Kansas State’s 35, down 3, with 1 minute left in the third quarter.

The crowd erupted when Fette took the field.
BREAKING: Freshman Jake Fette is in for Cutter Boley at quarterback.
Boley is 1/5 since relieving an injured Mikey Keene in the second quarter.
Fette is a four-star recruit from El Paso. He’s completed one of two attempts this year. Big move from Dillingham.

8 pass plays, 1/6, 7 yards, 2 sacks

Knuth fools ASU’s entire defense on a read option and jogs in for one of the easiest touchdowns of his life. Kansas State has the lead. ASU has 1 first down since Boley took over.
Big drive coming up for Boley.
17-14, K-State. 7:59 3Q.

Bad punt from McLarty, who’s had an otherwise stellar day, after ASU went 3-and-out inside its own 10. K-State will take over on the edge of the red zone.
The Sun Devils could sure use a turnover from Brian Ward’s defense.
14-10, ASU. 9:50 3Q.

As the teams went into the locker room, Trap Queen by Fetty Wap boomed from Mountain America Stadium’s speakers.
Intentional or not, there’s some symbolism with four-star freshman Jake Fette (referred to by many as Fette Wap) now thrust into a backup role with Keene’s injury.

ASU came up empty on its final possession of the first half after Boley was sacked as time expired. He looked noticeably less decisive and confident than Keene.
14-10, ASU ball out of the locker room.
Keene took a shot after that second down. He was down for a minute or two before trainers helped him off the field. He can’t put weight on his right leg.
Cutter Boley and Jake Fette are warming up on the sideline. Looks like Boley is going in.
