Fifteen Bitcoin mining companies, including Bitmain, MicroBT, Canaan, Foundry, F2Pool and Bitdeer, have committed to build integrations for Tether's open source Mining Development Kit. The goal is one shared layer so apps and AI agents can run mining machines from different vendors.
These are commitments, not shipped integrations. Version 0.11 is out now, and Tether is targeting a stable 1.0 by the end of 2026.
For Bitcoin, an open control layer that the biggest hardware makers sign onto would most likely make mixed fleets cheaper to run and weaken any single vendor's grip on the software.
