Day 1 of the @OpenEdGlobal 2026 Conference is in the books. Yesterday's opening keynote with MIT prof and poet @SirJoshBennett was truly special and thought-provoking.
If you have time, our discussion with him on our podcast Chalk Radio is worth a listen! 🎧 chalk-radio.simplecast.com/e…
A keynote that reminded us why open learning matters. Thank you, @sirjoshbennett, @mit professor of literature and distinguished chair of the humanities, for kicking off @openedglobal.

We just learned of the passing of MIT mathematician and programmer Margaret Hamilton. Her work at MIT's Instrumentation Lab was essential to the success of NASA's Apollo missions in the 1960s. She was a true trailblazer. Rest in peace. 🚀

Paula Hammond arrived at @MIT at 16. Now she is Dean of the MIT School of Engineering.

What happens when learners take ownership of their education? Four medical students at Ege University in Turkey did exactly that.
They used MIT OpenCourseWare to build a rigorous curriculum in mathematics and science, and transformed it into İleri Çalışmalar, a thriving independent research group that now publishes in peer-reviewed journals and collaborates internationally.
