Interesting connection: Annie Andrews began her political activism as a Moms Demand Action volunteer after the Parkland school shooting. After that same tragedy, Ralph Norman went viral for placing a loaded handgun on a table during a meeting with Moms Demand Action volunteers to *prove* that guns aren’t dangerous. Now, Andrews is running as a Dem for the Senate seat Norman lost the GOP nomination for, and he’s telling South Carolina voters they deserve better than the candidate who beat him.

Seeing posts saying that surely Lindsey Graham was being blackmailed for being gay. I’d like to see a news story supported by evidence. Otherwise we may be on the verge of a “Lavender Scare” where politicians’ sex lives are outed because they pose a security risk. Imagine the McCarthy-like hearings.

I would not have voted for Lindsey Graham, but this makes me angry for many reasons: (1) So what if he was gay? Does anybody think he wasn’t?! Does it matter? (2) Apparently he lived in a time and space where he thought it mattered and so he never addressed it publicly. We only get one life and we should be able to live it authentically. It is just sad when someone feels like they can’t. (3) And he was probably (clearly, from the looks of this “documentary”) right. And that’s even more sad. (4) To the people who say he deserves to be shamed for his anti-gay positions, shaming someone for being gay is the opposite of what you claim to stand for. And (5) he’s deceased. What does anyone hope to accomplish with this?!

Based on comments I need to point out that nothing in this article I commented on mentions the allegations of a 17 year old. Those are serious and newsworthy. And the fact that media chooses to leave that out and focus on writing about his being gay - like it’s a scandal - illustrates my point. There are many aspects of this that could be newsworthy but lazy media outlets start and stop with the allegations of homosexuality.
