In a traditional public auction, participants can often see other people's bids and adjust their own strategies. But Fungo uses a different approach. Participants submit their bids privately, without exposing their bid prices and quantities to everyone during the auction. 🟨2/ How Do You Place a Bid? Each participant chooses two things: → The price they are willing to pay. → The number of Genesis NFTs they want. Bids are placed in cZAMA, using Fungo's encrypted bidding system. The selected price and quantity remain encrypted while bidding is open. 🟨3/ What Can Others See On-Chain? Privacy does not mean everything disappears from the blockchain. According to FungoLabs' auction announcement, these details remain visible: → The bidder's address. → The time of the bid. → The number of bids placed. However, the bid price and quantity stay encrypted during the bidding period. 🟨4/ Why Is This Important? So, how does the system actually work? Let's understand it step by step. 🧵 🟨1/ How Is the Final Price Decided? FungoLabs is using a sealed-bid auction for its 2,500 public-sale NFTs. Once the bidding period ends, bids are revealed and ranked from highest to lowest. The bid that fills the 2,500th NFT determines the final sale price. The interesting part? Every successful bidder pays the same final price, even if they originally bid higher. 🟨2/ Who Gets the NFTs? There are three possible outcomes: → Above the final price: You receive your full requested quantity. → Exactly at the final price: If there are not enough NFTs remaining, allocation is shared proportionally (pro-rata). → Below the final price: You receive no NFTs, and your bid amount is refunded. 🟨3/ Let's Understand With an Example Imagine the final sale price is 10,000 cZAMA per NFT. Bidder A: Bids 15,000 cZAMA for 3 NFTs. They receive all 3 NFTs and pay 30,000 cZAMA in total. The remaining 15,000 cZAMA is refunded. Bidder B: Bids 10,000 cZAMA for 2 NFTs. They may receive a proportional share of the remaining NFTs if demand at the final price exceeds the available supply. Bidder C: Bids 8,000 cZAMA for 1 NFT. Their bid is below the final price, so they receive no NFT and get their 8,000 cZAMA refunded. 🟨4/ What Should Participants Remember?
