From RAI UNO, on the opening of the Shanghai Grand Opera House.

Last night, Teatro La Fenice brought Puccini's #Tosca to the newly opened Shanghai Grand Opera House for its Asian premiere and its only stop in China. As the curtain fell, Shanghai audiences answered with thunderous ovation. The show continues on Oct 24. Teatro La Fenice from Venice has brought Puccini's classic opera "Tosca" to the 25th China Shanghai International Arts Festival. It's also the first opera staged at the Shanghai Grand Opera House, the city's new cultural landmark. #Shanghai #Opera #Tosca #TeatroLaFenice #CSIAF #MakeItShanghai @teatrolafenice @joanantonrechi @MaestroGKC

We began in Venice for rehearsals. We traveled to Shanghai. More rehearsals. Such an incredible project to coordinate chorus, orchestra, stage technicians, costume and make up artists, stage production team, administrators, and singers to come together as one to create a most special event. Hats off to La Fenice for seemlessly guiding all of us. And all of this remarkable effort culminated in the inauguration of the Shanghai Grand Opera House with two performances of Tosca. The public was so warm and enthusiastic. And it could not have been a more rewarding experience! Thank you for sharing the journey with me! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #teatrolafenice #Tosca

Ready for Tosca in Shanghai! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #TeatroLaFenice #Tosca

Toi toi toi to all my colleagues here for our opening of Tosca at Harmony Hall! It has been a great joy to work with you to bring this wonderful production from Venice to Shanghai. And a special shout out to my lovely Tosca - Anna Pirozzi! Hugs to all and in bocca al lupo! We’ll be waiting for you tonight! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #TeatroLaFenice #Tosca

The Fenice of Venice will be in Shanghai until October 25 with TOSCA of Giacomo Puccini, inaugurating on October 22 the opera season of the new Shanghai Grand Opera House, an imposing architectural and cultural complex built in the area that hosted the Expo. The stage of Harmony Hall, the largest of the three rooms in the complex, will host its first opera in the Fenice's staging. For the two performances scheduled for October 22 and 24, the more than two thousand seats available are already sold out. TOSCA will be staged by Joan Anton Rechi, with the scenery of Gabriel Insignares, the costumes of Giuseppe Palella, and the light design of Fabio Benetello. In Shanghai, the performances will be led by Maestro Renato Palumbo… featuring soprano Anna Pirozzi, tenor Gregory Kunde, and baritone George Gagnidze. The trip will involve a total of 234 people, who will reach China in three successive phases. The six containers left from Italy by ship containing scenographies, costumes, makeup materials, equipment and electrical equipment arrived in Shanghai. 25 boxes containing the instruments of the Orchestra and costumes are traveling with the company as well. If you are lucky enough to be in Shanghai, don’t miss it!!! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #TeatroLaFenice #Tosca

Remembering the great Luciano Pavarotti today. I had the great privilege of meeting him briefly early in my career, during my years at the Lyric Opera in the young artists program there. He was a generous mentor to all of us there. And not long ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet his wife Nicoletta, who so kindly invited me to be a part of a beautiful gala in Shanghai, recalling the great Maestro last year. Thank you, Nicoletta, for this special opportunity to remember and celebrate the legacy of Luciano Pavarotti! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #Intermusica #impallomeniartistmanagement

😉In case you were wondering what this tenor is doing in Busan, Korea. ⭐️As seen and heard yesterday in the dress rehearsal, Otello’s entrance. 💛Who’s ready for some Verdi?!?!?! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #Intermusica #otello

With the children’s chorus of Otello here in Busan, Korea. So happy to see and meet young people interested in opera. They are the future of this magnificent art form! And boy oh boy, can they sing! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #Intermusica #otello

Together again. 📸This photo was taken in July of 2023 in Tokyo, when we worked together on… drumroll, please… Otello! ⭐️Always an immense pleasure and incredible experience to work with Maestro Chung! 🗓️Our concerts here in Busan are coming up: 10 & 11 October! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #Intermusica #otello

It’s a long way from home! But Busan, Korea is looking pretty fabulous. And look who met me at the theater within hours of my arrival in Busan: one of my favorite people who will be singing Iago to my Otello in just a few days, Željko Lučić! Feeling a little tired, but so happy to be here! #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #Intermusica #otello

So happy to announce that I will be singing in Pittsburgh with the Pittsburgh Festival Opera this fall! Don’t miss this production of Verdi’s Ballo in Maschera conducted by Christopher Franklin… with my dear friend and outstanding mezzo Marianne Cornetti! One performance only on 6 December 2026 at Carnegie Music Hall. #gregorykunde #thistenorneverstops #verdi

Esultate indeed! Have a wonderful time working with Maestro Chung again, and enjoy every moment in Busan.
