geoparquet-io 1.7 is out! A fast Python CLI and API for working with GeoParquet files, also used by Portolan CLI. New processing operations: simplify, polygonize and contour. #GeoParquet#geospatialgithub.com/geoparquet/geopar…
There are also quite a few bug fixes 🐛
• Fonts are now cached in the Skia renderers, which fixes lag on the UI thread
• Outlines and fills were not drawn on types inheriting from GeometryFeature
• iOS could flip the map rotation during multi-touch
And two smaller ones:
• String handling is now culture-invariant. Embedded images failed to load under the Turkish locale.
• BaseLayer has a VisibilityMargin, so symbols near the edge of the viewport no longer pop in and out.
It is a beta, so feedback is welcome 🙏

It beats older generation models and already obsolete nemotron 3 super and mistral 4 small(not even 3.5 medium) and it beats Qwen 3.6 35B a3b(which is very small) not current gen Qwen 3.8 27B and flash next. And the benchmarks are selective, they do not demonstrate coding, etc
Morning routines come down to one question: do I have time?
Here's a card we built that shows when to leave, when you'll arrive, and how long until you need to be there.
I’m not a huge rust fan but I do believe we should stop building bloated tools (*cough* with JS and Python). Performance matters more than ever for agents invoking tools to get stuff done.
I'm excited to share that today is my first day at Microsoft, joining the Windows Developer Platform team! I'll be working on the Windows App SDK and working with developer communities to help evolve the platform and make building great apps on and for Windows even better. #winui
Union types are coming to C#.
