In this poem, Taliesin is a prince consumed by depression and grief. The italicised lines are from the medieval text ‘The Book of Taliesin’.
Thanks to talented #poet and guest editor @CarolynTho14847 for publishing with the Candyman’s Trumpet.

Such is my cultural defensiveness, I struggle/ get triggered when Welsh people in films, TV and drama get depicted as illiterate buffoons.
Sometimes, it’s funny, other times a horrid, easy-grab cliche. Worse when it’s written by Welsh people.
An acceptance for a #poem rejected a few times before.
This one is for my trans friend Paula - rest in sequins. ✨
Out next month.
Can’t wait to see this in print. #transally#translivesmatter🏳️⚧️ #translivesmatter🌈✊
It’s years since I had a copy of this mighty, moody work ‘Remains of Elmet’ and I’ve been looking for another copy since someone borrowed it and it was not returned. Most seem to be about £40 or £50 but I got this today for a tenner in Swansea.

I was astounded to see this post this morning. So grateful to @MatthewMCSmith for his careful reading of so many pieces. 🙏
I didn’t write this with winning in mind; it was fuelled by the emotion of watching a friend being subjected to the physical and mental toll of cancer. 🎀
