Idk about a second round pick for BTJr for the Chiefs
BUT do think something worth noting is that Liam Coen’s offense hasn’t really highlighted vertical-plane WRs. Don’t think it’s coincidental Thomas’ “great” year came with Pederson’s offense.
Even jumping back to Tampa for Coen, Mike Evans had his lowest yards/reception, aDOT, and targets - which also were backloaded post-Godwin injury.
If the Jags are getting only 3rd round pick offers for BTJ and told KC, the only way they’d trade to them is for a second would you do it if you’re Veach?

Think the only way it make A LOT of sense is if KC thinks Indy underutilized Downs vertically. If they think there is a little more “Zay Flowers-esque” to his game than has been shown. Not necessarily Thornton-Nine routes but Corners, Deep Overs, etc..

He’s *probably* better than any non-Rice WR in KC but wins in the same area of the field. Does it differently but similar area.
It’s easy to point to the M2M str, it exists, but minimal vertical presence, on LoS versatility, & catch point str

Andy Reid’s presser today was probably the most I’ve ever seen him pressed about something (rightfully so) since he’s been KC.
Some of those questions about both Kickers were legitimately hard to answer and man… the answers were not great.

He's insurance for Harrison Butker, who has missed 15 total kicks since the start of the 2025 season.
