The terrible floods that devastated Libya's eastern coast have shown clearly the ineptitude and corruption of the region's administration under Gen. Haftar and his sons.
But this is not the moment for polemics but for finding a rapid solution for the distraught population.
Instead of wasting time chasing fantasies like Libya joining the Abraham accords, Italian PM Meloni and Min.for foreign affairs Tajani should lead and push for the creation of an international committee to coordinate and direct aid to the populations hit by the devastating floods
All the pain and sufferance of the people hit by this tragic series of events should not be wasted but turned into an opportunity for Libyans together with foreign actors of goodwill to push for the emergence of better-suited people to govern the country in such a dramatic moment
On the 🇮🇱🇱🇾 debacle: for a government to realize an agreement of such magnitude it must hold popular support- precisely what Dbeibah's GNU now lacks.
In Libya, the question of popular legitimacy is no longer avoidable.

I spoke to @i24NEWS_EN about the 🇱🇾🇮🇱🇮🇹 debacle: What is clear is that this was a missed opportunity for diplomacy. The agreement was not supposed to be secret, simply not advertised. Unfortunately, it is unlikely we will see any concrete plans for normalization in the S-T.
I spoke to @SkyTG24 about the ongoing negotiations between 🇹🇳 🇮🇹 and PM Meloni's recent visit to Tunis.
Tunisia faces a dire economic situation, which could cause a massive influx of migrants reaching Italy and other European countries.
Current Pres. Kais Saied is driving the country down a path of democratic backsliding. Yet, there are no alternatives, and as I explained to Sky News, 🇮🇹 must maintain open communication channels while also pressuring the Pres. to keep the country on its democratic course.
