Congratulations to Dr Matthew Uppington on passing his viva! "Towards Photo-contractile Swarms of Protocellular Robotic Agents" Co-supervised by
@sabinehauert and Pierangelo @GobboGroup. Thank you to @HermesGadelha/ Martin Trefzer/ Martin Homer
@engmaths2 for serving as panel.
The picture with the spring reminds of one of our papers where we used mechanical springs as a way of communication in swarms. "Morphological communication for swarms" with Asheesh Sharma & @sabinehauert#MorphologicalComputationtinyurl.com/2k44cv6t
I was allowed to design a cover for our Special Issue on Soft Robotic in IEEE Control Systems. Made in @affinitybyserif Designer and @Procreate (sketches).
Attached are different stages of the design from sketches to submitted version.

I am absolutely thrilled that our first philosophy paper is out. "The morphological paradigm in robotics" with Sascha Freyberg in Journal Studies in History and Philosophy of Science. #MorphologicalComputation@softlab @BristolUni@BristolRobotLab buff.ly/3qoz8jh
Playing around with my favourite vector drawing application #AffinityDesigner. I made a little one sheet tutorial to draw a "cell blob". @affinitybyserif
Thank you @zotero, but I was looking for the bib entry (see example below). I can get it with Zotero's "Export Item ...", but I couldn't find a shortcut that would it copy to the clipboard.
This is my favourite example to show #MorphologicalComputation. Another one that I like is the Erodium seed. It drills itself into the ground when conditions are right (i.e., humidity is high enough).
