AI is eating the world. If you are spending time every day trying hard to automate as much of your job/company as possible, you have a seat at the table. Everyone else is on the menu.

one time i showed casablanca to a friend for the first time, and when it was over, he said it was good, but it was distracting how many cliches they used. “i think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” lines like that. anyway this tweet reminds me of this
watching the first episode of new girl, does it stop being so Quirk Chungus or is that just the tone of the show forever

Proof that you're getting old
Watching a history show about John Wilkes Booth: Me: “Booth was a famous actor. It’s like if Brad Pitt killed the President.” Daughter: “Who’s Brad Pitt?”

Good lesson for tech people from @Unnikri: when looking for a research/startup collaboration with a medical institute (like @Chellaram_Hosp): Start with the clinical problem, not with a technology looking for a use

Same. Primary reason to prefer Claude Code today is the much better remote control feature
Claude /remote-control is becoming one reason to prefer Claude CLI versus Codex CLI sometimes, since it is too convenient. I'm not sure why @OpenAIDevs is lagging on that, many open issues and requests, and does not look too hard to add.

[Poll Results]: ⅔ of the respondents would prefer AI judgements to Indian judges. Anyone surprised?
[Poll]: You get into a property dispute with someone, and the case ends up in Indian courts. (And suppose magically, it actually reaches a "decision" stage in a reasonable time) You're given a choice: the decision can be given either by a human judge or an AI. Who do you choose?

Keep a friction log. It doesn't need to be a formal one and you can just write a note on your phone or a text file. Now, every time something wastes your time or someone else's, write it down. After a few weeks, patterns show up. The things that recur are the things worth fixing. One-offs usually aren't.

It's amusing to read that Paris looters are discovering the watches they stole from Rolex and Patek Philippe stores are worthless shop units without working movements and secondly that all the Apple phones are display technology that locked the moment they left the store.

In practice most people experience their job as a queue of tasks. Tickets come in, tickets go out. And the multiplier question ("Why does this kind of ticket keep coming in?") only occurs to you if you step out of the queue long enough to look at it. And most queues are designed, accidentally, to never let you do that.

Why are all these stories about the EDF form related to only HDFC Bank? Is it because people disproportionately use HDFC for foreign remittances, or is it because HDFC is the one bank that got too aggressive with harrassing customers over a badly communicated RBI directive?
UPDATE TO THIS: Got a call from HDFC. They clarified that as an individual I do not need to file EDF and the mail was an oversight, and that the payment has been credited. Cool. So, personally, I am ok. But I do think many of the points below are still valid: The unnecessary burden on small exporters, the painful process, and the confusion created by inadequate communication.

"So, basically, the dumb AI transferred me to a smart AI, and I was absolutely convinced I was talking to a live person."
Расскажу историю про современные AI ассистенты. Звонил я тут в отель снять номер ночью, сначала попал на AI, тупой как пробка, все как обычно, пришлось несколько раз сказать «I’d like to speak to a human operator» пока наконец-то на человека не перекинули.

Whoa... I knew that we always breathe more through one nostril, and that keeps switching throughout the day. But I didn't know the reason.
Our noses have two nostrils because they each perform a different function. The nose serves two purposes: - Helps us breathe - Detects scents Our nostrils perform both roles, but typically one handles breathing, and the other picks up scents. 🧵⬇️

People give what they carry inside. Kind people include. Mature people communicate. Healed people set boundaries. Secure people celebrate others. The way people treat you is often a reflection of what lives within them, not a measure of your worth.
