Expect south winds to gust 30-40+ mph in much of the area Friday. While relative humidity isn't looking particularly low, if fires do manage to start, they could spread quickly. Outdoor decorations could also be blown around.

What to know: Expect 30-40+ mph gusts out of the south. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s to around 80. Relative humidity expected to remain in the 30s, with a few 20s near the Kansas border. Impacts: If fires start, they may spread quickly, especially across northeast Nebraska. Loose outdoor items may be blown around. What to do: Be careful with equipment that may spark. Avoid burning. Make sure outdoor decorations are secured.
