Patiently authoring a book titled On The Cosmic Symbolism Of Bread about the theology, philosophy, metaphysics, and symbolism embodied in bread-making.

Bread Matrix
It's been seven months since I gave the last update for my book "On The Cosmic Symbolism Of Bread." I can now share some positive information: The third chapter is now complete (minus some very few final edits). It's a weird one! When I was originally writing the third chapter, it got quite long. Because of this, I cut about 20 pages from it. The good news is that those pages will be in the fourth chapter. The better news (?) is that the fourth chapter will be the last one. Two points for the future: 1.) I'm hoping to have the fourth chapter finished by the end of the year. If this happens, then the manuscript will be ready for review at the turn of the year. How long this process will take.... I have no clue (might take a very long time as everybody is busy these days); 2.) I am working on a new cover for the book that I am excited about so long as I can get the required licensing to use the picture I've set my mind on. *** I don't expect many people to read this book as it is very niche, but to those who are interested in it, please be patient with me.
Alright folks, the work for my book On The Cosmic Symbolism Of Bread has continued and an update is due: The introduction through the second chapter have now been entirely re-written and overhauled. While there are four more chapters left to re-write, the groundwork has now been completed (for the time being). The remaining chapters **should** be easier to write. I have attached a screenshot of the table of contents to the point where the manuscript is stable. I am also working with a cover artist to make a new cover for the book. Thank you all for your patience. More to come!

Consider getting a grandfather clock if you have space for it. They're usually pretty cheap these days because boomers are passing them down to their children and grandchildren who don't want them. For example, I got this clock for $100 to the seller and dinner to my friend who helped me move it.

America is not nearly as “materialistic” as it often seems to many people in Europe, and it is interested not only in “business” and “atom danger” but also in “questions of the Spirit.” There is a wide field here for Orthodox “mission,” or rather “catechesis.” But unfortunately Orthodoxy, and Russian Orthodoxy especially, is interested not in this but in squabbles, intrigues, vanity and “national pride.” - Fr. Georges Florovsky, in a letter to St. Sophrony of Essex

In food symbolism, salt tends to be accompanied by fire. The uncorruptible salt preserves and seasons the flesh and the fire cooks and purifies the flesh. As for Lot's wife, her becoming a pillar of salt symbolizes a preservation of her state and the fire that came down upon Sodom symbolizes its purification.

Apparently the prescription to read a book a week is considered "an ungodly amount of reading" these days. Not expectable from a blue collar father or a single working mother, but it sure is from a full-time student.
It’s an ungodly amount of reading and no easy A. So why are freshmen lining up to get into Humanities 10? on.wsj.com/4iIxhOF

2.) I was denied permission to use my first choice photo for the book's cover art but was given permission, today, by a different photographer to use their image. I think the cover for On The Cosmic Symbolism will be great.

Pretty sure spiral time is the most coherent explanation. Recapitulation not repetition.
There is a thesis which argues that the Octoechos is not only a musical system and an eight-week cycle of texts; it also images the transition from the sevenfold cycle of time into the eschatological eighth. Each tone is often described as carrying its own theological character or 'mood' (penitential, sober-joyful, triumphant, etc.), so that the weekly cycling of tones colors the same eternal truths differently across time. Additionally, where the Octoechos rotates every eight weeks, it symbolizes cyclical time whereas the Menaion is fixed, so it could be argued it symbolizes linear time; meaning that the dual modes of time are metaphysically linked. Perhaps this is where another argument for spiral time, with reference to music, could be made.
