The water temp off of Santa Cruz is 68! Unheard of for this time of the year and it’s still getting warmer!
I’m very worried for this winter, it could very well be one for the record books and not in a good way:
Category 5 (beyond extreme) marine heatwave conditions are being observed offshore San Diego, where water temperatures are up to 77°F.
California's severe marine heatwave is also marching north and has now reached Northern California, with water up to 68°F offshore Santa Cruz.
