Get ready for a doozy. 1/x The problem with 3D printed guns even now is the barrel. The FGC-9 relies on chinese “explosion proof” barrels, of which the ATF and Feds can shut down at any time because its an import.

Bizarrely, the first publication/information about this gun after its initial commercial failure came in 1953 - in a porn magazine! The article gets quite a few details wrong, but is a great historical touchstone for seeing how quickly they were treated as curios.
The Becker Automatic Revolving Shotgun Designed in early 1920s Germany by August Coenders, it uses a novel blow-forward action to facilitate cocking, cylinder rotation, and ejection of fired shells - 16 gauge, 65mm shells.

On the bright side, in a few years we'll be able to look back fondly on these times where the NFA tax was $0 and ATF hadn't started arresting people for transferring them on 4473s. It'll be called something cool, like "the NFA kerfuffle of '25/'26" or something.

The "GOVT PROPERTY" part is from the same rollmark die as the "AR-15" part. The "AR-15" is there intentionally.

The AR15 was never used for military service.
Community note
The original AR-15 was adopted by the U.S. military in 1962, with examples issued for Vietnam combat trials before redesignation as the M16. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArmaLite_… britannica.com/technology/M16… darpa.mil/about/innovati…

7.62 NATO originates from .300 savage, a hunting cartridge. it’s still a military cartridge for killing people.

This thread is solid evidence that the typical gun owner knows just as much about the AR-15 as a typical antigunner (virtually nothing at all)
No. 223 Remington was not a hunting cartridge. It was developed specifically for the AR15 for military service. The military used 223 Remington to kill enemy combatants in Vietnam before civilians could even purchase it. The original 55 grain fmj was designed specifically to keep parity with 30-06 M2 ball lethality out to at least 300 yards. It wasn't designed to be a "varmint" round.

You’d think a $12k firearm would be more accurate I fired 10 well aimed shots, one at a time, at 50 yards from prone and this was the best group I could manage

One day I'll find a wrecked S5X series Beretta to do up with an adjustable comb and ladder trap rib and have a true to form Olympia clone, but until then a stock S54 is close enough. Pretty cool that the developers just hallucinated a non-existent sporting shotgun into the game.

An automatic shotgun with two magazine tubes (and two triggers, which select the magazine that feeds next) sounds complicated, but Breda managed to cram a mechanism into this shotgun that lets it work reliably. It's a bit confusing to learn how to use the system, though.
