Paul inherited the prophecy, but Jessica helped turn it into a weapon. One of the craziest Star Wars theories is that Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader was actually necessary in order to fulfill the Chosen One prophecy. Think about it. Maybe becoming Vader was the tragic path he took to fulfill it.

Paul doesn’t create the Fremen’s suffering, but he learns to weaponize their faith, culture and desperation to build an empire. And somehow, we’re supposed to celebrate him? What if Paul Atreides isn’t the Fremen’s saviour, but the most successful colonizer they’ve ever welcomed?
