The good news is you don't have to sit through a four-movie for examination of the Elon Musk personality type. You can read this short story instead: "The Advisor." newpoplit.com/portfolio/the-… #fiction
Alex Gibney’s 4 hour long movie about Elon Musk has been pulled from theaters within two weeks of release after flopping hard

Fines don't work against a $3.9 trillion dollar corporation unless you're suing them for $3.9 trillion dollars and then bankrupting their CEOs and corporate leadership. Fines will NEVER work against the billionaire class. Google does what it wants because it can.

During the January 6th attack on the nation's Capitol, Daniel Rodriguez drove a stun gun into the neck of Officer Mike Fanone. He was knocked unconscious, had a heart attack and suffered a traumatic brain injury. It ended his career. Rodriguez got over 12 years in prison for his assault on police. On day one, Donald Trump gave him a "full, complete and unconditional pardon" and sent him home. This is far and away the most corrupt White House in American history.

I can't speak about France, but we live at or near one of the epicenters of U.S. immigration-- including Islamic-- and we can testify the newcomers are not culturally incompatible. One of the points made in "Midterm Madness." Part II coming soon! newpoplitinteractive.com/202…
"So many culturally incompatible newcomers have piled on, in their telling, that society, properly speaking, is no more. What remains is an agglomeration of strangers, arrayed now in hostility, now in cold peace." @SohrabAhmari for @unherd on France. unherd.com/2026/10/france-an…

HERE'S PROOF that we were writing about "the ultra-elite, VIP world of wealthy horse girls..." and the ever-widening wealth gap three years ago. Are we always ahead of the curve? You know it! 😎 fastpoplit.com/2023/11/03/na…

I DON'T KNOW if literary critics can be coaxed out of the fortified bunkers in which they've hidden-- until after the critical midterms-- in fear they may have to take a stance on something. But we can always make the attempt. From a few years ago: fastpoplit.com/2024/01/12/fo…

Our writers and critics are sleeping. Or hiding.
Truth is, for large parts of America, the 2008 recession never ended. Except w prices of everything doubled past few years, it's worse. Where are our writers? In bubbles? We're paying the price for creation of an isolated literary scene, restricted to an out-of-touch monoclass.

If only someone had foreseen that putting all our economic futures in the hands of an industry beset with thieves, grifters, con artists and robot-fetishising sociopaths might have a significant risk of going seriously wrong...
“a bursting AI bubble would be a much bigger shock to the economy than the bursting IT bubble at the end of the 1990s that brought us to the edge of a liquidity trap. Yet the Fed has much less room to cut rates now than it did then: the current Fed funds rate is only 4 percent. So if huge AI spending is a bubble, and that bubble bursts, I can’t see how the U.S. can avoid plunging into a liquidity trap — a situation in which the Fed simply lacks the tools to get us out of a slump. If this should happen, the economy is likely to remain depressed for years.” -@paulkrugman

The most critical U.S. midterm election ever, for the future & survival of this nation (with the exception of during the Civil War), and our established literary critics are MIA. Missing In Action.

Elon Musk is a classic Don Quixote type. He's read so many fantastic novels, esp sci-fi, he takes them for reality. Believes all the Asimov plotlines, himself at the center of the stories. Amusing until it becomes dangerous. Here's my take on the guy. newpoplit.com/portfolio/the-…

Selling Alaska to Russia. Isn’t that enough treason, folks?
The Russia smell of this Alaska fossil fuel deal was so bad that even former Exxon people bailed from the company. The smell of Russia permeates the corrupt Trump administration. ft.com/content/e9cfbfbb-e65a…

Has everybody read, and thought about, the background of Ohio candidate Amy Acton? Moving twelve times as a child? Living in a tent??? Yet this is how thousands, maybe millions, of people live in this ultra-wealthy country where all $$ goes to the top. Wake up. Change needed.

A great photo really to illustrate the idea of the NYC literati as "the ultra-elite, VIP world of wealthy horse girls..." (Or, France circa 1789.)
Had a blast at @TheFP’s Independent Creator Summit! Such a pleasure meeting so many talented creators and independent thinkers ❤️

AN EXCERPT, from Part Two of the short story "Midterm Madness." Coming soon. Literature as news. Going beyond what any other writer is doing.

The Russians certainly have kompromat on Trump. But more generally Trump is a central node in an international network of kleptocrats and oligarchs helping each other make $$ and tear down democratic institutions that constrain them, mob bosses integrated into governments
