He's curious, friendly, and absolutely LOVES attention. Although Cheese is a pacing-bred Standardbred, he's decided that trotting under saddle is more his style! He's been making great progress in his riding career and has settled into a brave, laid-back partner. While he had a few opinions when he first started under saddle, he's grown much more comfortable and willing with consistent work. Cheese retired from racing sound with no known injuries, making him an exciting prospect for a variety of second careers. With a playful personality, a willing attitude, and a genuine interest in learning, Lilacs has been a fun youngster to bring along. He's easy to lead in a plain halter, gets along well with his pasture buddies, and is a straightforward keeper who doesn't need any special management. He's still polishing his cross tie manners but stands nicely for grooming and tacking with supervision. Under saddle, Lilacs has settled into an age-appropriate routine and is making steady progress with the basics. Because he had limited race training, he's still very green and can occasionally get a little wiggly or round his back after an extended break, but he's responded well to a confident rider who simply encourages him forward. Lilacs is looking for an adopter who enjoys developing young horses, appreciates a little playful personality, and can offer him the consistency he needs to blossom. He retired with a knee injury and is best suited for a moderate-impact career, where he can continue building his skills with the right partner.
