The Ocean Tracking Network (OTN) is a global aquatic research, data management & partnership platform headquartered @DalhousieU in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
We'll no longer be actively posting on this platform, but we’re still sharing updates, stories, and science elsewhere! Please follow us on our other social media channels.
📢 New publication! “Towards a Best Practice in Acoustic Telemetry Mooring Design” from OTN and @IMOS_Aus shares 10+ yrs of field-tested methods for deploying acoustic gear from estuaries to offshore.

🎤 Mic drop… into the ocean. For #WorldOceansDay, we’re listening closely to the giants of the deep. Slocum gliders are equipped with hydrophones to listen for whale calls. These underwater microphones allow OTN collaborators to develop policies to protect endangered whales.
We’re inviting collaborators to feature their work in an OTN research profile! They're a great way to:
🌊 Strengthen community connections
🌊 Share your insights with a global audience
🌊 Inspire future research
