THIS IS BEYOND POLITICS! The BC Conservatives have dismissed people for far less, yet Pavneet Singh remains the party's vice-president and a candidate after historical sexual-assault charges came to light. To be clear, the charges were stayed, not proven, and Singh says he was falsely accused. But that still leaves legitimate questions about the party's vetting process and its standards of accountability. What did party leadership know, when did they know it, and what questions were asked before he was appointed vice-president and selected as a candidate? We want accountability from David Eby and his government. But accountability cannot be selective. No political party should demand transparency from its opponents while leaving serious questions about its own leadership unanswered. These findings are deeply concerning to say the least. Why is the Conservative Party standing with HIM and yet, ousted Kerry-Lynne Findlay?

It is time to reopen Riverview. We used to take care of people with mental illness at the Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam. It was closed in 2012, and now we have thousands of people with mental illness living rough on the streets of Vancouver. The de-institutionalization policies are clearly not working. Reopening Riverview is long overdue. Why hasn't it happened yet? It is because of an indigenous land claim? I intend to find out.
