Albums listened to this week. I had thought I had heard all of #Donizetti’s operas, but I realized that two @OperaRara recordings I had included in my listened list were ones I hadn’t actually listened to yet! 😱 Furthermore, I managed to track down another one of his operas(1/4)

Y no me digáis que no es maravilloso que Opera Rara recupere los extractos de la versión de 1919 de La rondine. Os confieso que esa Doretta más íntima merece ser escuchada. Enhorabuena al barítono Olivieri, una voz a seguir!
🎶 @OlivieriBariton features in bonus extracts from the 1919 version of Puccini’s La rondine, included in our new release exploring the opera’s fascinating musical history! 💜

Congratulations Shane! A book championing indie labels and forgotten opera is long overdue. And what a cast on that Robinson Crusoe. Ordered! ❤️ #classicalmusic

Really pleased that my book, "Classical Music: A Companion for the Curious Listener," highlights so many pieces only available to us through indie labels, such as these ones available on @OperaRara. (And no, the CDs don't come with the book, they are just for illustration!). It's great to be able to highlight the work of indie labels in so many of the mini-essays. The Kindle edition of the book is now available to pre order on Amazon and the hardback and paperback will go live on November 15th).
