Felix, Our Co-founder and CTO, has been named one of @TIME’s 50 Executives of the Year for Tech and Data. Alongside leaders of some of the biggest technology companies, research institutions, and global organisations. Today, he leads our engineering team of 1,000+ people across multiple continents, building technology that helps millions of people and businesses access financial services every day. And because we're allowed to brag a little today, Moniepoint is the only African-founded company represented on the list. But this is absolutely Felix's moment. Seeing African technology represented in a room like this? We'll take that too 💙 #Moniepoint #Fintech #PoweringDreams

In 2025, we invested in Alliance Chemicals Today, the company has grown its revenue by 1,400% since it started. The numbers are impressive. But what makes the story interesting is how two friends from Ibadan ended up building one of Africa’s most important industrial supply-chain companies. Here’s the story 🧵

The company started in 2023. Since then, Alliance has grown revenue by 1,400%, built a base of 60+ enterprise customers, and expanded across Nigeria and Kenya. But the ambition goes beyond distributing chemicals. Alliance is building the infrastructure around the supply chain: sourcing, financing, storage, testing, and distribution. And now, it is moving towards local value addition and manufacturing.

That is what makes Alliance interesting to us. Africa will need more factories to produce the food, medicine, homes, and goods its growing population demands. Those factories will need reliable access to raw materials. Some of the companies that make this possible will be software companies. Others will be building the physical infrastructure behind Africa’s industrial future. We said Oui to Alliance. @OuiCapital turned $150K in @moniepoint into $8M — a 2x return on its debut fund. What made it possible? Conviction, patience and disciplined portfolio building. @theafrovc on building a lasting African VC franchise: pevcang.org/articles/the-fir… #PEVCA #CapitalAtWork #AfricanVC

Last month, our Principal, @SaeedSeghosime decided it was time to have a different kind of conversation with founders. As a former founder, he knows building in Africa is hard. So he created a space where founders could talk to investors without the usual formality.

Ask A VC was born. No pitch decks. No formalities. Just founders, investors, and people curious about entrepreneurship asking questions, exchanging ideas, and having a real conversation. We started on X Spaces last month and had an incredible time. But luma.com/1eawx4ki

We want more people in the room. So this month, Ask A VC is moving to Google Meet. Same informal format, just a bigger room for founders, builders, investors, and entrepreneurship enthusiasts from Africa and beyond. September 30. Come join us. đź”— luma.com/1eawx4ki

In 2019, we invested $150K in a company called TeamApt. Five years later, that investment became $8M. Here's the story. 🧵

But the return isn't really the story. The interesting part is what happened before the return. When we invested, TeamApt wasn't a household name. Moniepoint wasn't a unicorn. There was no billion-dollar valuation to point to. There was a founder, a team, a market, and a thesis.
