After talking it over with my family and coaches, I have decided to decommit from Lafayette College. I want to thank the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity and believing in me throughout this process. With that being said I will be reopening my recruitment and looking forward to what God has planned for me. ๐๐พ

Houston true freshman Paris Melvin Jr. says he was just added to EA CFB 27 a week ago, but hasnโt had a chance to play the game,
โEverybody was calling me and was like, โOh, youโre in the game, youโre in the game.โ I was like, โOh, itโs about time.โโ
Says he wants his overall rating to be in the 90โs by the end of the season.

Houston true freshman Paris Melvin Jr. on advice heโs received from his coaches:
โEvery day I come in, they just continue to tell me to keep my head up. Iโm going to make mistakes, Iโm young. Thatโs just a part of the game. As I grow, as I continue to get better.โ
โPut my next foot forward, forget about the previous play, and just move on to the next play.โ

I asked @ParisMelvinJr at Fan Fest what his favorite thing was in offense or defense. He told me that defense was a challenge for him and he was learning a lot. Looks like he accepted the challenge. Glad heโs playing for UH.
University of Houston's 18-year-old defensive back and future three-way force Paris Melvin Jr. on the chance to play early he has in this UH program: "I mean that drives me every day. I still have a chip on my shoulder from a lot of things. That people said. From myself. I want to prove myself first. I want to prove to myself that I can do it. And then I'll worry about everybody else.
"I'm going to keep the main thing the main thing. It drives me every day. I wake up and keep the same thing the same thing. I want to play early. I want to be a Freshmen All-American. I'm going to do whatever it takes."
Melvin praises Willie Fritz and the UH coaching staff for following through on everything that was said during his recruitment and giving him a real chance.

University of Houston football coach Willie Fritz on some of the true freshmen who will have play and have roles this season; "(Running back) John Hebert has been very impressive. Well coached. He's got good practice habits. Same thing for (defensive back and future triple threat) Paris (Melvin Jr.). He's going to play for us as well as a true freshman." Fritz also mentions offensive lineman Noah Abebe and defensive end Kaleb Walker as other guys pushing to see the field early.
"A bunch of these guys are going to have a chance to play for us as true freshmen," Fritz says.
University of Houston true freshman running back John Hebert, who ran for more than 8,000 yards and 89 touchdowns at Strake Jesuit, is already carving out a role for himself this season in Slade Nagle's offense. "Just knowing that I'm going to be used in this offense, if anything it makes me want to work even harder," Hebert says.
"I need to be locked in throughout this entire camp. All the summer workouts. . . I can't wait to get on the field."

Another foundational building block for the #Coogs defense. I believe @kamroberson30 has the potential to shut down an entire side of the field. Back to back classes that Houston adds a blue chip member of the secondary from Cy-Springs (@ParisMelvinJr) as well.
