I don’t normally speak about these things on this account, but I genuinely cannot understand how some people are blaming the tiger in this situation.
A human being made the conscious decision to enter an enclosure with an endangered species, one with only around 500 left . And somehow, people are prioritizing the person who made that decision over an animal that never had a choice in being there in the first place?
This is exactly why I have such a deep love and respect for animals.
Animals don’t act out of malice. They act on instinct, whether it’s to survive, defend themselves, or protect their territory. They don’t understand our laws, our morals, or the consequences we impose on them.
Humans, on the other hand, have the ability to understand consequences. We can make informed decisions. We know right from wrong, and yet we are still capable of making reckless, selfish, and sometimes downright cruel choices.
That tiger didn’t choose to have someone enter its territory. It simply reacted the way a wild animal would.
And while I genuinely feel sorry for the person involved and their family, I refuse to blame an animal for behaving like an animal.
I’m relieved that the tiger will remain unharmed and won’t have to pay the price for a human’s decision.
Wild animals should never be punished for their instincts, especially when humans are the ones who put them in these situations.
I guess I’m in the minority in believing that human life should be prioritized over animals. Yes, even when the human has done something stupid. It was clear the tiger wasn’t going to be put down when they allowed it to maul him to death without intervening.
