Tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) is a widely used cool-season turfgrass in North Carolina due to its tolerance to heat and drought stress. Payton Perkinson and Grady Miller reimagine tall fescue fertility in @NCTurfgrass magazine > theturfzone.com/tcnc/?ascat=…

A study @MSUTurf evaluated spring seeding dates, creeping bentgrass & Poa annua to help golf course superintendents re-establish putting greens after winterkill. Earlier seeding dates & bentgrass cultivars had only small differences. @PerkinsonPaytondoi.org/10.1002/cft2.70066

Winterkill reestablishment – Payton Perkinson & Dr. Kevin Frank will discuss putting green reestablishment practices in the spring. The effect of creeping bentgrass cultivar and Two-Putt annual bluegrass seeded on three dates on two different rootzones will be presented.
I had a great time at the First Green event at Lyon Oaks Golf Course yesterday. It was a pleasure to work with @Perfsportsturf at the soil station and connect with all the other volunteers.
Great day to wrap up WinterTurf projects before the snow falls. A couple projects related to snow mold - fertilizer rate & timing, and leaf mulching for home lawns.
