Not a headline I expected to see tonight ⬇️

Kucherov doesn’t have a full no trade. It’s a modified no trade, 10-team list of approved destinations.

New with @PierreVLeBrun, Red Wings’ Dylan Larkin won’t play as trade stalemate continues nytimes.com/athletic/7736011…

There were talks in the the last 24 hours between Larkin's camp and the Red Wings, both last night and again this morning, and what was communicated from the agents to Detroit was that Larkin feels he's given the team ample time since his trade request in May to get a deal done. Larkin has had enough, so decision was made he won't play tonight nor for foreseable future hoping a trade materializes. Fluid situation still. Red Wings circling back to teams with interest, etc., as talks escalate.

Larkin will not play tonight. McLellan says Shawn Horcoff will address the situation

Jake Allen stressed how well the Devils have been playing and said they just have to dust off the loss and regroup. On where the team is at: “There’s an energy in our room right now that, to be honest, I probably haven’t seen since I’ve been here.”

The Avalanche snapped the Devils’ four-game win streak, dominating the final 40 minutes to hand New Jersey a 5-2 loss. The Devils allowed 44 shots on Jake Allen. New Jersey plays next on Friday in Vegas, where Connor Hellebuyck will presumably be back in net.

The Devils, down 31-12 in shots, look like they're feeling the effects of the back-to-back. Colorado was buzzing that period. But New Jersey is tied 1-1 and on the power play to start the third.

How concerned should we be about the state of the #NYR? It depends which part of the team you’re talking about. I went through several pressing topics — both for individual players and broader issues 👇🏼 nytimes.com/athletic/7730511…

Connor Hellebuyck found out about the Devils’ Halloween party with two hours notice. He went to a Spirit Halloween, where he picked out an ATM suit for his costume. Why? “I’m going to let you guess on that one.” More on the post-trade whirlwind: nytimes.com/athletic/7731291…

Four days after being traded to the Devils, Connor Hellebuyck made a winning debut against the Stars. From receiving the trade news during practice to attending a team Halloween party on two hours' notice, it's been an eventful few days for the star goalie. @Peter_Baugh goes behind the scenes of Hellebuyck's arrival in New Jersey: nyti.ms/4e3zeCM
