“Show me proof of widespread misandry & men’s issues”
OK. Here we go...
1. There’s an 85-page violence against women/girls strategy but not a *parallel* one for boys/men (19 pages) despite men statically experiencing more (& dying more) from physical violence than women
Referring to this as a “relationship” leans towards some sort of legitimisation
It also doesn’t matter that he initiated it
He’s the child
She’s the adult
She sexually abused him
He may realise this when he’s older like other male victims of female perpetrated abuse do
Misandry doesn't exist?
It's bold & blatant, & it is the height of ignorance to neglect to consider how misandry may influence harm & disadvantage against men & boys
Every month I see men/boys who have been told by people in their lives that they hate men
To think that this hatred will influence absolutely no harm against men/ boys worthy of attention is completely irrational
Our new survey with @ThirdWayTweet finds that around 76% of men under 50 say boys’ and men’s issues aren’t taken seriously. The data shows that they want lower costs, mental health support, and childcare & paid leave for dads.

Balance? Seriously? When significantly more effort, funding, condemnation & attention goes into tackling (& often unreasonably assuming) misogyny but nothing goes into even considering the influence of misandry, then maybe THAT is the imbalance we should be talking about
'So a man has just devastated a young woman or a girl, but what about his future?'
@ShelaghFogarty wants the misogyny in criminal institutions to be 'turned on its head', following cases of rapists being spared jail.
What rights don’t men have?
Many. One includes the right to be classed as a victim of violence against men & boys when they experience domestic violence
They are classed as male victims of violence against women & girls
It’s astonishing our government think this is acceptable

Men are criticised for not seeking help, but what about men who make the effort to reach out, only to feel let down by the experience?
We can learn a lot from the experience of a homeless man, described here, who's attempt to seek help fell flat for him

I didn't even realize you were the Phil Mitchell on The Sexual Abuse of Boys and Men book. It's been on my TBR for a while.
I suppose I should bump it up the list lol

The disparity between the attention given to misogyny & women’s adversity, & the attention given to misandry & men’s adversity is so huge that it acts as evidence as one of the clearest examples of neglect for men, boys & their wellbeing
Once again we disagree. You think my logic is faulty; I think your comparison is faulty. It not only overlooks the wealth of evidence re: adversity - in some case, disproportionately & uniquely experienced by men - but also the neglect of these issues AND the effects of misandry
Your logic is faulty. By that same logic, the disparity between the attention given to racism and Black and ethnic minority adversity and the attention given to anti-White racism and White adversity is evidence of neglect of White people’s wellbeing…
