Omo life don dey touch my Amiyah ๐ญ
The assignment Amiyah brought home this weekend was so tough that she spent almost two hours working on it.
When she was finally done, she came downstairs to the living room and found me watching a show. In the scene, a doctor was desperately trying to save a patientโs life.
You know how kids are. Their dream careers change depending on what they watch. Sometimes, sheโll see a teacher in a movie and say, โDaddy, I think Iโm going to be a teacher when I grow up.โ ๐
Anyway, while watching the show, I said, โHopefully, the doctor saves her life.โ
She didnโt say a word.
So I asked, โYou still want to become a doctor, right?โ
This girl broke down in tears. ๐ญ
โDaddy, Iโm in sixth grade. Can I just finish that first?โ
I immediately paused the show.
โAduke mi, whatโs going on, dear? Come and sit here. Whatโs wrong?โ
โNothing. Iโm just tired. I spent almost two hours doing my homework. School is so hard.โ ๐ญ
So, I encouraged her as usual, โSee, Aduke, don't break, dear. Iโm with you my motherโs child. I know school can be hard sometimes, but I want you to remember that you donโt have to know everything or get everything right. Struggles, mistakes, and even moments of frustration are all part of the journey. please remember that you never have to face these challenges alone. Daddy is always here for you. Whether you have questions, need help with something you donโt understand, or simply need someone to talk to when things get overwhelming, you can always come to me. You never have to be afraid of asking for help or feel like you have to figure everything out by yourself.โ
She responded, โOkay ๐โ
โDo you need a hug?โ
โYes ๐โ
I sha gave her many hugs.
โCan I have a snack? ๐โ
โAduke-duke, you are never too sad for a snack ๐ญ I don't blame you jare, you have used all your strength to do your homework ๐ญ๐ญโ
