NVIDIA GPU owners now have a new way to push their graphics cards further without permanently changing the BIOS. A new tool lets owners of supported RTX 50, 40 and 30 series GPUs load a custom VBIOS without actually flashing the GPU’s BIOS. So you can test a modified BIOS while keeping the original one untouched. With the RTX 5080 test, the card normally has a 360W power limit, but the modified VBIOS allowed it to run at 500W. That means users can potentially unlock higher power limits and experiment with higher clock speeds without permanently replacing the original BIOS. This is mainly aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers, running a GPU at 500W can produce significantly more heat and put much more stress on the card’s power delivery and components. github.com/Panchovix/nvidia-…

Daft Punk had the chance to work on GTA 6, but turned Rockstar down despite reportedly being offered an “unlimited” budget. The claim comes from a report citing French music journalist Romain Figueira, who says Rockstar wanted Daft Punk to make a major contribution to the game’s music. The duo reportedly declined the offer, with the reason apparently being that they weren’t interested in returning as Daft Punk. Rockstar ultimately went with Justice, who are officially composing GTA 6’s original score.

Rapper Sexyy Red has entered the Marvel Rivals skin debate and replied to the official Marvel Rivals account and asked: “When yal gon give storm her legendary skin??” Storm has only had one Legendary skin, and the lack of high-tier cosmetics has been a recurring complaint from players. Revolut seems to be down for a lot of people today. Users are reporting issues logging into the app, sending money, topping up their accounts, and making card payments. Some are also getting error messages when trying to use the service. The weird part is that Revolut’s status page is still showing everything as working normally.

They’re also looking into what they can do for fans who were planning to attend in person.

The Finals is adding AI-powered commentary in its next update. Starting October 20, the commentators Scott and June will be able to mention players by their usernames during matches when they do something impressive. For example, instead of saying “That’s a great headshot,” the commentator could say the player’s name and then mention the headshot. Embark says the feature will start with a small number of situations so the team can test it and make sure the commentary sounds right. The system uses AI text-to-speech, which The Finals already uses for some of its commentary. There’s also an obvious problem: players could create usernames with inappropriate words just to make the AI say them out loud.

Palworld’s developers don’t want to add new Pals just for the sake of having more. Pocketpair publishing lead John “Bucky” Buckley says the team isn’t thinking, “We need to release 100 new Pals with the next update.” Instead, they want every Pal to have something memorable, whether it’s their design, abilities, personality, combat role, work skills, or just something weird and funny. “Ideally, every Pal should have something that gives players a reason to remember it.”

Joe Ziegler, the former lead behind Valorant and Marathon, has spent 3,437 hours playing Path of Exile. He says the biggest reason he loves it is the freedom to experiment with different character builds. “Path of Exile is the most freeform version of that.” He loves experimenting with different builds, calling the game a “Rube Goldberg machine of effects and things.” Ziegler also prefers the original over Path of Exile 2: “It’s a little bit more limiting.” “Path of Exile 1 was more meant for me.”

Rockstar says GTA 6 is so massive that no single person can have the entire game in their head. Rockstar North art director Aaron Garbut explained: “There’s no one person that has this whole thing in their head.” That freedom also means developers can add small details they think are cool, instead of everything having to come from a big master list. The famous horse testicle system wasn’t a feature Rockstar management specifically ordered. A developer simply decided to add it because they had the time and thought it would make the game better. That same philosophy could be behind some of GTA 6’s crazy attention to detail. Rockstar is leaving room for individual developers to add their own little touches.

The team behind Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis says the remake will keep the moments fans remember most almost untouched. Creative director Michał Kuk explained that when people think back to the original Tomb Raider, they remember the locations, vistas, objects and moments that created the strongest emotions. “Your brain remembers the things that generated the most emotions for you,” Kuk said. “These are the things that have to be in the [remake] almost untouched.” But not everything is being copied directly. As the game becomes more realistic, some of the original’s logic is harder to justify. “As we bring the level of realism up, there are some things from the original we struggle to justify,”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines could be getting a remaster. A new rumor claims the 2004 cult-classic RPG is being brought back as a remaster, not a remake. Leaker Daimler_KKnD said: “I can confirm that it is in the works. NOT a remake, but a remaster, with some caveats. That’s all I can say.” The rumor also comes from industrial metal band Genitorturers, who reportedly told fans at a recent concert that a new Bloodlines project was in development. If true I hope it’s nor a remaster for the modern audience

Xbox strategy manager Brandon Stirrup has deleted his X account after facing a lot of backlash over his recent comments about AI in game development. Stirrup had spoken openly about Xbox using AI and said developers who refuse to embrace AI shouldn’t be in the business of making games. He deactivated it because of the large number of replies he was getting. There are also claims that Microsoft isn’t happy about the situation and that it has caused some internal discussion

PS5 firmware 14.10 might be the next big one for jailbreakers. Developers are currently testing new vulnerabilities on 14.10, and some researchers have managed to get further into the system than before. There are also reports of Debug Settings being accessed on 14.10. Still, there’s no public jailbreak yet. But things are definitely moving.

Digital Sun has canceled the public playtest for ReVamp because it fears AI tools could be used to reverse-engineer and clone the game. The first test will now be limited to a small group through Discord, starting October 29, with the public playtest planned for around January. Digital Sun said: “We’ve been concerned by the recent news of games being reverse-engineered, cloned and published before the original is even out.” “Showing games early is how indies get seen and find the fans who keep us going.”

NetEase is cracking down harder on toxic behavior in Marvel Rivals. The developer says it has increased penalties for speech violations in both text and voice chat. Punishments will now take into account the severity of the offense and the player’s history, with much harsher penalties for serious or repeated violations. The rules specifically target insults, harassment, discrimination and hate speech. NetEase also launched a dedicated moderation policy page to explain how its system works. NetEase says this is an ongoing effort and that it will continue improving its moderation systems.

RTX 6060 might not arrive until 2029, and could potentially be weaker than the PS6, according to hardware leaker KeplerL2. KeplerL2 claims NVIDIA could delay the lower-end RTX 60-series cards because of ongoing supply constraints: “6060 will launch much later, and based on recent trends I doubt it will match PS6.” “When there’s a supply shortage NVIDIA tends to really drag the release of lower end cards. There’s a good chance RTX 6060 comes out in 2029.” For comparison, current PS6 leaks have placed Sony’s next console around the performance level of GPUs such as the RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti, although those comparisons remain speculative.

Umamusume’s first U.S. concert could be cancelled because the performers still can’t get their U.S. visas. Cygames says it has been working with U.S. lawyers and promoters for more than six months to get the necessary visas, but they still haven’t been approved. The concert is scheduled for October 22–23 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with voice actors performing songs from the game. Cygames says it’s still working with everyone involved to try to get the visas approved in time

Demon’s Souls Remake is making some serious progress on PC through PS5 emulation. The game can now run at over 60 FPS on an RTX 5070 paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D at 1440p, with Frame Gen enabled, performance can reach close to 120 FPS. That’s a huge jump from just a few weeks ago, when the game was struggling to reach 5 FPS even on much more powerful hardware. Sony must be really losing their mind right now
