More worryingly, RBI has already deployed more than half of the $140 billion foreign-currency mobilisation haul. In fact, over the last six months, the RBI has repeatedly stepped in with major measures whenever the exchange rate approached the ₹97/USD mark. When you take lessons in economic policy from the world’s fourth-largest unregistered NGO, this is what you get. It makes you wonder: without this extraordinary support from the RBI, the dollar would have long crossed the ₹100 mark.

For the academic year 2025-26, 274 children of Bengaluru City Police officers and personnel have received incentive awards worth ₹58.30 lakh through the Police Welfare Fund. This includes 143 students who secured 90% and above in SSLC and PUC examinations, along with 131 students pursuing higher education. Supporting the education and aspirations of our personnel’s children is an important part of police welfare. Flagged off the Karnataka Police National Motorcycle Rally from Vidhana Soudha as part of the National Unity Day 2026 initiative. Around 200 police personnel from Karnataka, including Bengaluru City Police, KSRP, CRPF and NCB, along with members of Bikers Unity Calls India, are riding to Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The rally carries a strong message around the fight against drugs, reinforcing Karnataka’s unified efforts through RISE and #BedaBro to build awareness, strengthen prevention and protect our youth from drug abuse. Laid the foundation stone for the new Traffic Park at the Traffic Training and Road Safety Institute, Thanisandra, being supported by the Honda India Foundation and flagged off 20 Honda patrol motorcycles contributed by the Foundation to strengthen Bengaluru Traffic Police’s on-ground mobility and response. The new Traffic Park will serve as a hands-on road-safety learning space, using model roads, signals, signs and crossings to teach children and citizens safer road behaviour. Also interacted with young students and volunteers from the Students’ Association for Road Safety (SARS), speaking about better road etiquette and the role each of us plays in making Bengaluru’s roads safer. Bengaluru’s mobility challenge needs deeper collaboration across government, industry and citizens. I invited Honda and other partners to engage more closely with our Urban Mobility Mission for mobility solutions. Bengaluru Traffic Police has long contributed to Brand Bengaluru. We want industry to see us as partners in progress as we build a safer, smarter and more mobile city.

Met the Salesforce India leadership team to discuss how we can deepen our partnership across skilling, startups, sustainability and digital governance. We explored Salesforce’s participation in our AI University and digital skilling initiatives and ways to support Karnataka’s startup ecosystem through mentoring, market access and platforms such as ELEVATE. We also discussed CSR opportunities around water resilience, ecological restoration and sustainable AI. With Salesforce’s experience in public sector initiatives, there is also a real opportunity to work with our e-Governance and Home Departments on Praja Seva and other citizen-service platforms, to make citizen services more responsive and easier to access.

Attended the SoulAce GCC CSR Leadership Forum in Bengaluru, which brought together GCC leaders, CSR professionals, policymakers and social impact experts to discuss how corporate resources can create more strategic, accountable and measurable impact. Karnataka’s direction is clear. Through the proposed CSR policy, we want more CSR generated from Karnataka’s growth to create impact within Karnataka, with opportunities across education, skilling and livelihoods, water management, sustainability, nutrition and community development. We will work towards a structured framework that makes it easier for GCCs to connect with the right departments, credible projects and local priorities, turning intent into partnerships that deliver lasting impact where it is needed most.

Held a comprehensive review of the Prisons & Correctional Services Department, focusing on rehabilitation, skilling, employment and reintegration. Our priority is to ensure that inmates leave prison with the skills, confidence and opportunities to rebuild their lives. We are also strengthening the Prison Development Board and exploring CSR and private partnerships to expand rehabilitation programmes. The objective is that prisons must also be institutions of correction, rehabilitation and second chances, not merely confinement.
