Sounds like seeing the game from the booth vantage point mattered significantly to Jim Leonhard in running the defense, and he was able to make that move because the people element of his job was stable on the sidelines given the coaches and players the Bills have:
“I just felt like it was gonna give me the best opportunity to call a clean game. I trust our coaches. We have emotionally a pretty stable group of coaches and emotionally a pretty mature group of players. So the more I got to see that over the first 6 weeks of the season, 7 weeks of the season, it trust me to go get away from it and not feel like I gotta lead and be face to face with guys. I can sit up there and just kind of get in the lab and get my thoughts rolling, get ahead of things. I know what I’m looking for from a substitution standpoint and different areas of the field. I didn’t necessarily have to rely on playing the telephone game and having a little bit of lag in communication at times. Just natural right, when you have to get information relayed to you. I think that helped me get to some things a little bit quicker”
