IMPORTANT DEADLINE:  I don't usually post personal news, but this is a pivotal week for research that reduces the risk of organ rejection in children. I know firsthand because our family was part of the original study which developed Pleximmune. Without comparable reimbursement @CMSGov transplant specialists say this test and a related test for kidney transplant recipients will not be financially sustainable. Families, like ours, may lose, what researchers say is the only FDA approved early warning test for organ rejection in children. Please consider a note to your senator, and let them know to escalate the matter at Medicare @drozcms has done important work on heart transplant and understands the issues. Peter's story below👇
Personal News: I am writing as a mother and living organ donor. Twenty years ago this month, our youngest son Peter received a life-saving liver transplant at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh @ChildrensPgh With Peter’s permission, I’m sharing a photo taken with his older brother a few weeks before his 2006 transplant, when he was in liver failure. Four years later, he won gold at the U.S. Transplant Games in Madison, Wisconsin. And here he is today—healthy, strong, and thriving. What I didn’t fully appreciate in 2006 was that Peter and I were part of pioneering research aimed at reducing the risk of organ rejection in pediatric patients. Even though I donated a segment of my liver to Peter—and as mother and son we are genetically similar—the new testing protocol still helped lower his chances of rejection. Peter and I participated in a research project that developed a simple blood test called Pleximmune @plexision It predicts the likelihood of rejection in pediatric patients by analyzing the unique immune chemistry of both the child and the donor. The test also helps doctors determine exactly how much immunosuppression a child needs to keep rejection at bay. Our family knows firsthand how valuable this early warning system truly is. When Peter hit his growth spurt in his early teens, like so many pediatric transplant recipients, he needed increased immunosuppression. The Pleximmune test predicted this need months in advance, giving his doctors time to adjust his care before problems arose. The threat of rejection is a cloud that hangs over every transplant patient and family. This test is making a real difference. It helps prevent rejection and can save tens of thousands of dollars for families and insurance companies. This is where common sense matters. In early July, the research team is preparing an appeal to Medicare @MedicareGov to price the Pleximmune test "fairly and consistently" with similar diagnostic tests. Right now, only a small percentage of the cost of the test for pediatric patients is being reimbursed. As the team told me, “Fair pricing is the lifeblood of a company’s ability to provide patients with more informed care and continued innovation.” Today, Pleximmune has been used to test roughly 10% of children under age 21 who have received liver or intestine transplants in the U.S. If you want to support this important work and help more pediatric patients and their families benefit... Send a note to your senator, let them know to escalate the matter with Medicare so the appeal gets a fair hearing. Catherine

El-Sayed's campaign has paid $97,500 to "Ecumenical Ministers Alliance," which was registered to Sheffield's home address through 2014. Its registration has lapsed, raising all sorts of questions about Sheffield's group. None of the Michigan media is asking about this stuff though nitter.siddz.com/ChuckRossDC/status/211…
They just held this event, and neither El-Sayed nor Sheffield disclosed that El-Sayed's campaign has paid $97,500 to Sheffield's unregistered nonprofit. Sheffield told me through text when I asked about this: "Please don't contact me anymore."

Detroit pastor Horace Sheffield is holding a "fireside chat" with Abdul El-Sayed Sen. Warnock tomorrow. El-Sayed's campaign has paid $97,500 so far to Sheffield's nonprofit. the Ecumenical Ministers Alliance, for "consulting." El-Sayed and Sheffield have not disclosed these payments in their many radio interviews and campaign events together.

Sometimes we make mistakes. I made one today. I posted a report from @nataliegwinters about 4 GOP Secretaries of State who (among others) participated in a project funded by leftist sources. Natalie’s report (which is terrific) listed the 4, one of which was Idaho SOS Phil McGrane. Thanks to some mutual friends, I was connected today to @mcgraneforidaho - and after speaking with them and with him, I realized I was wrong to tar him with the same brush as the one that ACCURATELY describes the other two: the hideous @BradForGASOS and the equally terrible @LGHendersonUtah. Secretary McGrane participated in the project / attending some meetings with those two - BUT SOS McGrane is NOT anti-Trump, nor is he self-aggrandizing and against election integrity as those other 2 people are. My apologies to @mcgraneforidaho But: This should be a reminder to GOP officeholders: Be careful about the many, many self proclaimed “nonpartisan” national groups that invite conservatives and Republicans to attend meetings to help “educate” you. And to help “train” you. And to get their tentacles into you. You may have the purest intentions. The same cannot be said for the funders and leaders of these groups and projects. @mcgraneforidaho is a good guy that these bad guys would love to exploit. Phil McGrane is worth fighting for and we just need to keep him away from the likes of Brad Raffensperger and Deidre Henderson and R Street and the Soros-connected types. Raffensperger and Deidre are totally co-opted by the left. Good riddance to Brad as he exits public office. We still have to endure @LGHendersonUtah for another 2 years. But we’re on to her. We are watching her… More to come about her…. @EIwatchdogs @BasedMikeLee @chiproytx

A tornado in Clarksville, Tennessee, ripped the roof off Sydney Moore’s home and sucked her 4-month-old baby into the sky still inside his bassinet. But... GOD. ⠀ The father tried to grab the bassinet but the winds swept him up with the infant. Sydney threw herself over their 1-year-old son as the walls collapsed around them. ⠀ When the storm passed their mobile home was destroyed. Both parents and the older child survived, but the baby was missing. They searched the wreckage for about 10 minutes. ⠀ The father then found the infant lying alive in the hollow of a fallen tree roughly 25 feet away. The baby had only minor injuries, including a cut on his face that was later glued. ⠀ The entire family survived with cuts and bruises. Sydney credited their escape to the grace of God. The tornado that struck the area was rated EF-3 with winds up to 150 mph. ⠀ Think about what it means when a 4-month-old is lifted out of a collapsing home inside his bassinet and found alive in a tree minutes later while the rest of the family also walks away. But... GOD. ⠀ #Miracle #Tennessee

We're doing this again? The Founders had more than just muskets. Jefferson owned two Girandoni air rifles later adopted by snipers in the Austrian military. After visiting France Jefferson wrote to John Jay and James Monroe praising firearms with interchangeable parts. Monroe created a program (Monroe-Madison) to jumpstart the mass production of said arms which helped serve as a catalyst for the Industrial Revolution. The Founders would've purchased repeating flintlocks for the War of Independence except for price. Franklin wrote Washington asking him to commission rapid-fire muskets (like the Belton flintlock). The Puckle gun was considered the 1st machine gun & predates the Constitution by 58 years. @AbdulElSayed is embarrassingly ignorant of American history. Come and take it.
Abdul El-Sayed on the Second Amendment: "When they promised the right to bear arms, they had muskets. So, yeah, everyone should have equal rights to a musket."

Two questions: Why is Democrat Senator Elissa Slotkin such a bully? Why would any Michigan voter who is raising Gen Z and Alpha children choose this woman? She wants to prosecute young people based on how they vote and where they work. What a dangerous precedent.
"THIS IS ABOUT TRYING TO TERRIFY YOUNG PEOPLE" @ClayTravis argues that threatening young White House aides with prosecution for serving in the administration crosses a line

Zohran Mamdani’s administration has unveiled new sidewalk shed designs for NYC in an effort to bring better-designed sidewalks to all five boroughs. The administration has also reduced the number of sidewalk sheds by 1,200 across the city — a decrease of over 15% in 10 months.

Has Trump done a comparison in Michigan yet? Particularly, UofM? LOTS of visa holders there and lots of last minute student registration and voting.
There is a lawsuit that has been filed in Los Angeles federal court by DOJ that seeks to force Calif to set aside any ballots cast by persons among the 20,000 registered voters who have files with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services -- meaning they are visa holders or Permanent Resident Aliens, but NOT eligible voters. The legal theories advanced by DOJ are very interesting. They have filed for a TRO, and the opposition papers just came in. The case is held up temporarily over the lack of a Judge assignment. The DOJ filed a "Related Case Notice" stating that the case meets the qualifications under the Local Rule. Normally, the Judge to whom the earlier case is assigned would also get the "Related" case. But California has objected and claims the two cases aren't sufficiently related under the Local Rule. "Why?" You ask? The Judge is a Trump appointee. The same Judge who was assigned to the Hunter Biden criminal tax case in California. I'll have a Substack article tomorrow.

Also, as a parent, I'd be more worried about the folks ICE was after being roaming the neighborhood while the kids are out on the playground than the ICE is arresting them.
This is ridiculous! The school locked down because someone told the school ICE was engaged in enforcement actions in a different location "near" the school. And maybe if cities let cops cooperate, instead of warning folks, they'd get notice.

More Americans were disenfranchised by LA County Election Officials by having a sloppy voting registration system than requiring an ID to vote even disenfranchised. . . because the latter doesn't.
LA County Elections Officials tell a judge they tested a small sample (200) of the list of 20k registered CA voters the Trump administration says are non-citizens. 112/200 were not sent ballots 71.2% of the 200 have no voting history.

In other words, CA disenfranchised scores of Americans . . . because that's precisely what an illegal vote does.
