In the USA’s 250 year history, a pope has never voted in our elections until the 2026 midterms.

I can’t wait to see criminal defendants use the “but the AI chatbot told me so” as a defense. Except, does this count as reasonable reliance on a government official’s interpretation of the law? 🤔
The new America.gov website is insane!

No, the POTUS has no constitutional authority to change an industry term, and even if he did, we ought to question his priorities…

Does Bill O’Reilly want to overturn Citizens United? I think so based on his argument here, but he also wants to move the freedom of the press to another amendment…huh?

Want to do another episode on Citizens United, @LastWeekTonight? Alternatively, maybe an episode on how Bill O’Reilly seemingly forgets about how Fox News has perpetuated fake news for years?

It’s frustrating to see so many ardent Trump supporters now “see” how horrible he is when we’ve been saying this for YEARS. Thiel. MTG. Tucker Carlson.
Thiel on Trump: “There are a lot of things I got wrong... was crazier than I thought. It was more dangerous than I thought.” “You wish they’d appointed more competent people.” “administration is… staffed by not very smart but very loyal people”

Agreed
So let me get this straight: AI CEOs now say the end of the world is near because of what their AI bots have been doing - but they want an antitrust exemption as a reward? How about instead we make them liable for whatever bad stuff their bots do

“Stupidity is not legal malpractice. Incompetence is legal malpractice.” Came up with this to explain to a 1L why a lawyer didn’t commit malpractice by losing the case for their client.

People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true. I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin. Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions. Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25. Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha. So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years. PSA: don't come in my comments arguing about the results if you haven't read the full article, because ignorance is a choice. Full article is up now on my Substack (link in bio) and it's free.

It took us 20 years to hold social media companies accountable for the harms that they’ve inflicted. We learned what happens in the absence of regulation. We ought to apply that lesson to AI. We must regulate it now, not in 20 years.

The @GOP is also the party that argued for years that COVID stimulus funds caused inflation, and yet, here we are…
Some Republicans are saying they are worried about the cost and inflationary impacts of President Trump’s pledge to give American adults a $5,000 dividend if the GOP maintains control of Congress after the midterms. wapo.st/4A89AWT
