🚨🎙️Interviewer: You’ve been following the situation at Manchester United, particularly Michael Carrick’s relationship with some of the players. What’s your honest opinion?
🗣️Télemann:
“Honestly, I feel sorry for Michael Carrick. I’ve watched how things are happening, and I genuinely believe some of these players don’t respect him enough.
I’ve said this before: you cannot keep blaming managers when the players are unwilling to take responsibility. Every time something goes wrong, the manager becomes the problem. What about the players?
I know what it means to represent a big club. You don’t choose when to fight for your manager. You don’t decide when to give 100%. You do it every single time you wear that shirt.
And honestly, some of these Manchester United players need to understand that Michael Carrick is their manager, not their friend. They don’t have to agree with everything he says, but they have a responsibility to respect his authority.
What exactly do these players want? Another manager? And when that manager arrives, will they suddenly start playing differently?
Manchester United cannot continue sacrificing managers while protecting players who haven’t delivered consistently.
If I were Carrick, I would tell some of these players exactly how I feel. Nobody is bigger than Manchester United.
I will always stand with a manager who is trying to bring discipline back into a dressing room. At some point, these players must look in the mirror and ask themselves whether they are really giving this club everything.
You cannot disrespect the manager during the week and expect supporters to defend you every weekend. That’s not how football works!”
