I’ll go even further and say, I don’t even think zoomer know how subgenres work. All these recent genres seem to be based off visual aesthetics rather than any sonic aesthetics, but I suppose this is a byproduct of growing up with a vapour wave and not realizing it was a joke
people really don't know how to engage with music outside of genres and subgenres anymore (or ever?) everythings just classifications of classifications of classifications. is that rly the only way u can communicate about art? arguing about what arbitrary group it belongs to?
