Week 1 of getting a million people on #Holochain.
I'm trying to get the world to know a technology that solves what blockchain couldn't. Almost nobody has heard of it, and I'd like to change that in public, one week at a time.
It's called Holochain. With blockchain, every computer has to agree on the same ledger. That works for money but it's a bad fit for the apps we use every day. On Holochain you keep your own signed records and other people check them. Nobody holds everyone's data in one place, so there's no single vault to break into.
A million is a lot when almost nobody knows the name. People have to hear about it before they can use it, so the number I'll watch every week is Google Trends.
Interest in Holochain is at 2 right now. In April 2021, when crypto was going to the moon, it reached 100. I want to go past that, and this time without a bull run doing the work.
I won't post the user count every week. You'll hear about it when we get there.

The idea is growing, and I liked the way that this offer does not involve the contribution of the team and it makes this is owned only by the community.

Love this, and it's the best idea I've seen from the community in a while.
One tweak before we push it: if we put a bounty on "a hApp," we're testing that app's code as much as Holochain. Every hApp writes its own validation rules, so a sloppy app breaks and the headline reads "AI breaks Holochain."
Hosting is the wrong target too. Uptime and network attacks work on any network, so a win there proves not much at all.
What if we aim it at the money later?
A test Unyt network with test HoloFuel, and the challenge is to forge a payment or double-spend. That's Holochain's core claim, and the narrowest target.
"AI couldn't forge money on Holochain" is the headline we want.
Eclipse attacks would be out of scope, because the team's own paper already names them as an open risk.
The community funds a prize pool in HOT, the team only signs off the scope and judges reports, and it runs for 30 days on a public leaderboard. Moss could be round 2 if Lightning Rod Labs opts in.

Call for @holochain, @H_O_L_O_, and @unytco teams!
AI can find and exploit bugs on its own now. Pretty soon anyone will be able to hack many apps and systems.
Holochain was basically built for that world. There's no central server to rob, and almost nobody outside our bubble aware of it.
So put it to the test. Deploy one hApp, put a big bounty on it and let people throw every AI agent they have at it.
AI labs are always looking for real world benchmarks, this could be one. If it holds, people will finally hear about Holochain. If someone breaks it, you fix it in the open and we all learn something.
You set the target and the prize. We'll take care of spreading it.

It’s an Indigenous majority-owned regenerative forestry network and fund, established by a First Nation in British Columbia and now working globally. Its Living Forest Shares tie investment returns to the forest staying alive, so capital only thrives if the ecosystem does.
Capital built to care.
We’re collaborating with Kwaxala’s product team to explore how peer-to-peer value and identity tools can serve Indigenous Nations, supporting local self-governance and new ways to coordinate bioregional economies.
Why #Holochain? Kwaxala’s model needs both sovereignty and coordination at scale. Control stays with the Nations and communities who nurture the forest. Each participant holds their own data, identity, and connections, and trust is built peer to peer, not handed to a central platform.
Relation, not domination, built into the protocol.
Unyt adds shared-ledger accounting, so value moves between participants without an intermediary taking a cut. Holo’s distributed infrastructure may follow as the work grows.
