In recent days, the broader derivatives industry is starting to converge on one unsolved problem:
Onchain transparency ≠ trader privacy & safety.
A high profile trader experienced significant losses on a perp DEX totaling nearly $100 million recently. While transparency can aid market makers in absorbing large orders, the lack of privacy can lead to coordinated attacks on visible liquidation points. Public orderbooks expose position data, allow liquidation sniping, and open the door to predatory behavior.
Recently, industry leaders have debated over the pros and cons of the transparent nature of current DEX infra, where real-time visibility of orders can expose large traders to predatory practices. 🔥Fees are high $42m (7d).
But I have some questions...can I track all the fees goes? It would be interesting. In my view looks like burns are hardcapped.

I’m known as Pug on Twitter and Telegram. I’d like to share a bit about my journey and how @PancakeSwap positively influenced, until recently, the way I view crypto and web3. First, I want to thank everyone who believed in my work as a PancakeSwap ambassador. Unfortunately, I no longer hold that role, as I was accused of spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). But throughout this text, I’ll explain why I believe the real issue lies with PancakeSwap’s current CEO, Chef Kids (@Headchef_pcs), and the decisions that have led the community to question the project’s transparency.My journey in the crypto world began in late 2020 when I discovered CAKE staking on PancakeSwap. Fascinated by the platform, I started exploring it extensively. Since I found it easy to understand its features, I began helping other users on social media and in Telegram groups. That’s when I met Juapia (@juapia), a PancakeSwap ambassador who became my first mentor. Juapia was exceptional: dedicated, patient, and always explained everything in detail, especially for newcomers like me who were still navigating the complex web3 universe.Juapia taught me the importance of staying cautious to avoid scams, how to interact directly with the blockchain, and how to overcome my fear of exploring smart contracts. His guidance was crucial for me to navigate with confidence and security. What I admired most about Juapia was his attitude: he didn’t just help me but assisted any user who expressed doubts in groups or on social media. His patience and generosity were inspiring, and I drew inspiration from him to contribute to the community as well.Over time, I started answering questions, clarifying doubts, and guiding newcomers on how to use PancakeSwap safely. This voluntary work caught Juapia’s attention, and recognizing my dedication and knowledge, he invited me to become a moderator and, later, an ambassador for PancakeSwap. For me, it was an honor. I saw it as an opportunity to give back to the community that welcomed me and to help build a stronger, more trustworthy ecosystem.As a token of recognition for my efforts, I was awarded a special NFT called Panurai, designed to symbolize defending the community against threats. This NFT became a powerful reminder of my commitment to protecting and empowering users in the web3 space. To this day, the spirit of Panurai guides me, inspiring my actions in the present and my vision for the future.

However, not everything was perfect. Over time, I began to notice decisions within PancakeSwap that raised questions. A notable example was the Tokenomics 3.0 proposal, which sparked significant controversy in the community. Just before the announcement of this proposal, a wallet holding 25 million CAKE performed a staking operation, which many interpreted as a strategic move to manipulate the voting results or benefit from the proposed changes. These were not rumors or FUD — they were facts recorded on the blockchain, transparent for anyone to verify.As a moderator and ambassador, I believed my role included promoting transparency and protecting the community. So, along with other moderators, I raised these concerns, requesting public clarifications. That’s when things took a turn. Instead of engaging with the community or addressing the facts, Chef Kids, PancakeSwap’s current CEO, chose to expel moderators, including myself, under the accusation of spreading FUD. This decision was shocking. Rather than confronting criticism with transparency, the leadership opted to silence voices that were only trying to protect the community’s interests.The expulsion not only removed me from the project but also shook the confidence of many users who saw moderators as a bridge between PancakeSwap and the community. Today, I reflect on this journey with mixed feelings. On one hand, I’m grateful to Juapia and the PancakeSwap community, who taught me so much and gave me the opportunity to grow in the crypto space. The Panurai NFT remains a symbol of that journey, reminding me to stand up for what’s right.On the other hand, I regret seeing how a lack of transparency and the silencing of criticism can harm such a promising project. Web3 was born to be decentralized, transparent, and community-driven, but actions like these distance us from those ideals. My story as a PancakeSwap ambassador has ended, but my passion for web3 and for building a fair ecosystem continues.Guided by the values embodied in Panurai, I remain committed to defending communities against threats and fostering a transparent, inclusive web3. I hope my experience inspires others to question, verify, and fight for projects that truly value their communities. After all, as I learned from Juapia, the true value of web3 lies in the people who build it together.
