Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan is running against Democrat Mary Peltola.
A second candidate, Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., entered the race.
He initially sought to appear as a Republican.
He initially requested the ballot name Dan S. Sullivan, the incumbent’s exact middle initial.
Alaska election officials concluded that his candidacy appeared designed to confuse voters.
A court ultimately allowed him onto the ballot.
A New York Times investigation published October 28, 2026, reported that people associated with Peltola’s campaign and Democratic political organizations helped recruit him. Peltola has denied involvement.

Activist judges had been FORCING the Trump admin to release illegals on "due process grounds," saying their lengthy detentions were a violation of the constitution.
